Parables of Christ – The Conclusion

Take Note

The reading plan on the parables of Jesus Christ, came to a somewhat abrupt end this morning. The last two planned reading days consisted of no reading days, simply stating to catch up with what I may have fallen behind in. I was up to date with my reading. I told you, I don’t read ahead. So, I became still before the LORD, because I was in unplanned territory. I was brought to this, by verse 1, here, being the verse of the day from the YouVersion Bible App.

Before we carry on, please take special note of this: The Audio Notes today, both from the House of Bread and from Mike of COT are HIGHLY advised for you to listen to. It contains this to be read here, and on top of that additional matters to ponder on.

Friends, I do urge you to be sober-minded and heed the warnings at this time. The World is standing on the edge of becoming something we have never known before.

The Audio Version of today’s note

The House of Bread · Note for 20241030 – Christian Living – Parables of Christ – The Conclusion

Christian Living according to the Apostle Paul. (In conclusion of the Series on the Parables of Christ)

Romans 12:1-21 KJV

[1] I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. [2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. [3] For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. [4] For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: [5] so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. [6] Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; [7] or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; [8] or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. [9]  Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. [10] Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; [11] not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; [12] rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; [13] distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. [14] Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. [15] Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. [16] Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. [17] Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. [18] If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. [19] Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. [20] Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. [21] Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Note for 20241030

See this then as the conclusion of the series on the Parables of Christ. You may have asked yourself at some point, “what is expected of me?” Here Paul gives us somewhat of a summary of what Christian Living should be.

This however, is more than just a conclusion of the reading plan about the Parables of Christ. It is also a conclusion for a cycle of reading the Sermon on the Mount, the Book of Revelation and the 65 books in the Bible that came before it. This is what it all should lead to for us while we are still here on earth, that our lives may make a difference to the children of GOD, just as we have learned according to Matthew 25:40. What we do to the least of these whom God has placed us in the midst of, we do to Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour. So, to show your appreciation for what Christ has done for you, “pay it forward” to one another.

As far as our enemies go, those that come against us, remember also Ephesians 6:12; that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood. Remind yourself of the Lord’s Prayer, that as you forgive, so will you be forgiven. Don’t deny others forgiveness, making what Christ has done for them on the cross nothing. For in so doing, you may just bring harsh judgment upon your own head.

Be still and know Who GOD is (Psalm 46:10) and wait on the Lord. (Psalm 27:14)

I sincerely hope that you feel more equipped for each day coming, as we prepare for the coming of our Lord.

Friends, at this moment, I do not know where we go next from here. I have received requests to start our reading in Genesis 1 again. I will bring the matter before the Lord, so we may be led by Him in this matter too. For some of you, you may carry on from here to other things; some of you, even starting a cycle of reading and teaching with the Lord, to share with those you know. May GOD’S will be done.

For quite sometime I have told you, do not follow me; but, you go and follow Jesus Christ our Lord. For not all of us are called to the same, just as it is written here in today’s scripture. It is important that you know that at this point I cannot guarantee you of a devotional tomorrow. May GOD’S will be done, for me and also for you. What I can assure you, is that as the Lord gives to me to share, so I will.

For now, may the Lord our God Almighty bless and keep you. May He direct you on your path before Him. May He be the Light upon your feet, may He prepare your path. It is my sincere hope that I may write to you soon again. Until that time, I will do as I have shared with you. I will be still and I will wait upon the Lord to be instructed, where to next?

Selah, Shalom.

Opposition is very high. You are here on purpose at this time and for a reason. Become acquainted with who you are … accept it. Hide yourself In your Lord.

A dispute has started and it will not end. Darkness will always justify the darkness. The invisible spreading of a plague is causing a rottenness within.

There is something coming to America that will cause her people to unite.

True darkness will cause you to destroy yourself. When God empowers this last kingdom, IT will be the power in the earth.

The Wicked Husbandmen

The Audio Version of today’s note is advised

The House of Bread · Voice Note for 20241029 – The Wicked Husbandmen – Parables of Christ – Part 26

Mark 12:1-12 KJV

[1] And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country. [2] And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard. [3] And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty. [4] And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled. [5] And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some. [6] Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son. [7] But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be our’s. [8] And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard. [9] What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others. [10] And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected Is become the head of the corner: [11]  This was the Lord’s doing, And it is marvellous in our eyes? [12] And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way.

Note for 20241029

Related, there are also 2 other accounts of this parable which can be found in Luke 20:9-19 & Matthew 21:33-46, but I will not include it here for reading for respect of your time. All three accounts read much the same.

In our journey through the Word, we have read of good and unfaithful servants, good stewards like Joseph and bad stewards like King Ahab, just to mention some names you can relate to. Now we read this parable about the Husbandmen. Of course, these here in the parable are farmers who rented a vineyard. Why does the older translations then speak of husbandmen?

Let us look at the noun, husbandry:

[1.] the care, cultivation, and breeding of crops and animals.

“all aspects of animal husbandry”

[2.] management and conservation of resources.

“low borrowing demonstrates astute husbandry of resources”

These come from the definition according to the Oxford languages. Now, it is not my habit to use worldly definitions but there is a point to this today. For what else is the root word “husband” used in the Word of GOD? Let’s leave that for the Holy Spirit to work on in each.

The second concept I want to lift up out of the text is the rejected stone, that became the cornerstone. And for us, who believe in Christ Jesus our Lord, we know that our foundation must be in Him. Once more, I will leave this for the Holy Spirit to reveal in each.

As far as the parable itself goes, we know that it relates to those that God trusted with His Law, with a promise of Salvation in the Messiah that would come to them. The very same Jesus Christ of Nazareth, from the line of King David, just as the prophecies foretold. Even in this scripture, those wicked Husbandmen were identified as those who wished to lay hands on Christ, even at this time, fearing the crowds. And the chief ones of these, of course, once again being the Pharisees and scribes. These, that were trusted with the law and to judge over God’s people justly, the Husbandmen. And, today we know that these were responsible for delivering our Lord and Saviour to the Cross. So, this parable also pointed to the Way Jesus, the only Begotten Son of GOD Almighty, would go.

All this is quite plain to see in the scripture.

Now, and this is most important to understand today; who still rejects our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in our time? Who are the Husbandmen in our time? Can you accept the person Jesus Christ, but deny His Word?

My friends, do you realize that this parable essentially speaks of the entire history of mankind on earth? That means, this parable remains an “active” parable even until this very day. Did Christ not relate to us, who carry out the Word of GOD, that we are like the prophets that came before us in Matthew 5? Who, then, are the martyrs of Christ that died for Him and the message of His Gospel, even of the New Covenant that GOD made with mankind by the Blood of Jesus Christ His Son? Are our Brothers and Sisters in Jesus Christ not rejected, oppressed and even murdered? By whom are they oppressed and killed? Who is it that oppresses us even?

Are you starting to see it? Who wants the world all to themselves and wants no mention of Him Who Created All? Let him who has eyes to see, see. Let him with ears to hear, hear. For the rejected stone shall come upon the kingdoms of this world just as King Nebuchadnezzar dreamed of the rock that came and destroyed that great big statue of an idol. Who does this world idolize? Who do they lift up higher in their worship than GOD? Is politics, for example, not grabbing, in the same way, man’s attention; don’t the people parade through the streets singing their party’s praises?

See who the world worships instead of GOD Almighty, and our Lord Jesus Christ. See who they think will save them. Whether it be a party or a cause, an institution or even some mortal man lifted up to a godly idol figure, it is all the same… It remains idolatry. Now see the rallies, the sport arenas and yes, see the concerts that the idols of man worship all the time, with a lack of understanding what worship is.

And which idol is served by most? Oh, friends, please see it. Money, wealth, abundance, comfort and luxury… Yes, people worship Mammon, and the systems of Mammon. Now see the hoards of people slaving each day, compromising their personal morals and faith for the sake of having more tomorrow than what they had before. See the congregations of people in the worship of dollars, pounds and all forms of earthly possessions. We have read of evil spirits possessing mankind, but what is it that man seeks to possess? Is that not the vineyard that the Lord our God, the Almighty Creator rented out to us? Is He getting His portion of the harvest? Is rent paid to Him, or has mankind become occupiers, trespassers in GOD’S creation? What may be the report of us as stewards of His possession, treating all as our own? Whose will is being done, here on earth, in this world, to which the Lord Jesus Christ said we do not belong?

Now, who did the Son of GOD say will inherit the earth? Jip, that is Matthew 5 again. Can you see now why we went through the Sermon on the mount and the parables of Christ in response to what we read in Revelation 21?

I know that the Husbandmen of this world will hate my message today. I know that they might seek to bring harm to me. I know that this message is hated by mankind, because they have made a possession for themselves of God’s creation. They have planted their flags even on the moon. For the earth is not enough for man. No, they have laid claim to all and now seek to lay claim to the stars in heaven. Read the account of the Tower of Babel again, and ask yourself, is man not still set on the same?

The owner of all shall return, and deal with all the Wicked Husbandmen. That much, you can count on. It will surely happen.

That then for today, for some perspective for those who trust in the Lord our God, that we can remember who is the Most High GOD. To remember who the Son of GOD is, that He sent to man to receive His first fruits from the crop of man. Harvest time is coming, even at the door and so are the Angels that GOD will send, to bring the harvest in.

Shalom

Galatians 1:10-12 KJV

[10] For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. [11] But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. [12] For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

The House of Bread · Voice Note For 20241028 – Stewardship And Reward – Parables Of Christ – Part 25

Luke 19:11-27 KJV

[11] And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.  [12] He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. [13] And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come. [14] But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us. [15] And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. [16] Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds. [17] And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities. [18] And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds. [19] And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities. [20] And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin: [21] for I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow. [22] And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow: [23] wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury? [24] And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds. [25] (And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.) [26] For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him. [27] But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.

Note for 20241028

You can also read a related account of this in Matthew 25:14-30 KJV, which was part of my reading this morning. We look at this account in Luke today because of the reward spoken about, where the faithful servants who were good stewards of their master’s goods are given cities to rule over. May I show you something? Isaiah wrote something about the building up of waste places.

Isaiah 58:6-14 KJV

[6]  Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? [7] Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? [8] Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward. [9] Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity; [10] and if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day: [11] and the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. [12] And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in. [13] If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: [14] then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

This was written by Isaiah on what the LORD said is acceptable fasting in His sight, the fast which He has chosen.

In the Matthew 25 account of these good stewards and the reward that they shall receive, after it, Christ speaks on the separation of the goats and sheep. Permit me to include an extract of that here for you, though I do suggest you read this in full.

Matthew 25:33-40 KJV

[33] and he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. [34] Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: [35] for I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: [36] naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. [37] Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? [38] When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? [39] Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? [40] And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Who can still say the Word of GOD is inconsistent? Now, if you read on from here in Matthew 25, you will also see what happens to the goats at the left hand of this King. Even so, in the account of the servant that was profitable the King was cast outside where there would be a weeping and gnashing of teeth.

What are the talents the Lord gave us to be used for, to build a kingdom up for ourselves? To gather unto ourselves and not hold the fast GOD chose for us to uphold? Since we are looking at these cities in today’s reading, let us also look at the city of GOD. Now, once more I urge you, it is best to read all of chapter 21.

Revelation 21:22-27 KJV

[22] And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. [23] And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. [24] And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. [25] And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. [26] And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. [27] And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Remember how I wrote unto you that we look at the sermon on the mount and the parables of Christ in response to Revelation 21 and 22?

From where we are now, there still remains a 1000 years of peace under the rule and reign of our Lord Jesus Christ here on earth. This is ushered in when Christ returns, and is marked by the first resurrection of the dead. It is also at that time when those who are still alive and believe in Jesus will be changed. Remember how we read at the start of the Sermon on the Mount that Christ said, blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth? How shall we then rule and reign with Him then, even forever, if we can not rule and reign over ourselves by the Spirit of GOD that was poured out in us here? Don’t you know that here and now we are trained by the LORD to rule and reign in the righteousness of Him?

So, what talents have you received of GOD? What is it to be invested in, what is the fast that He has chosen for us? How are the sheep and the goats separated from each other, what is the reward of each and dare I ask, who will rebuild the cities under the reign of Christ Jesus here on earth? Do you still think that going to the Lord Jesus Christ is a retirement of some sort? Don’t you know we have been chosen for service to the Lord our GOD? But, not as slaves. No, we will be the children of GOD and joint heirs with Christ. Is that not written too? Don’t you know you are being trained for royalty, an office that is high and lifted up; but to hold that office, the Love of GOD Almighty for His Creation must be installed in us too. Do you still ask why we must enter the Kingdom of GOD through trials and tribulation? Will the Lord give such great power and authority to the wicked?

The wicked have their best time now. Here on earth they work themselves to a disqualification of all that is of righteousness to come. No wonder they cannot let go of what they have here, because this here is as good as it will ever get for them, until Christ comes to overthrow their wicked rule on the earth. This here, in Christ Jesus our Lord, is not just the path unto Salvation alone; but also the way of birthing the Children of GOD. How shall I say it then: The best of Life is still to come. In travail we will be birthed into heaven. Joint heirs with Christ of all that GOD has created. Now look again at Revelation 21, who can enter into the city of GOD, and who must remain outside.

Shalom

Matthew 6:31-34 KJV

[31] Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? [32] (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. [33] But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. The House of Bread · Voice Note For 20241027 – The Persistent Widow – Parables Of Christ – Part 24

Luke 18:1-8 KJV

[1] And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; [2] saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: [3] and there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. [4] And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; [5] yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. [6] And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. [7] And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? [8] I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Note for 20241027

The last verse here in our reading this morning has been the source of my fear and trembling as I workout my Salvation with the LORD of all Creation. Will Christ find faith on the earth when He comes?

Selah.

Today, though, we look at this widow that continually troubled the unjust judge to avenge her on her advisory. Jesus compares it to how we should pray, stating that our Father in Heaven will avenge us upon our enemies. Let us look at the next Psalm on my reading plan of the Psalms.

Psalm 108:1-13 KJV

[1] O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory. [2] Awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early. [3] I will praise thee, O LORD, among the people: And I will sing praises unto thee among the nations. [4] For thy mercy is great above the heavens: And thy truth reacheth unto the clouds. [5] Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: And thy glory above all the earth; [6] That thy beloved may be delivered: Save with thy right hand, and answer me. [7] God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth. [8] Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver; [9] Moab is my washpot; Over Edom will I cast out my shoe; Over Philistia will I triumph. [10] Who will bring me into the strong city? Who will lead me into Edom? [11]  Wilt not thou, O God, who hast cast us off? And wilt not thou, O God, go forth with our hosts? [12] Give us help from trouble: For vain is the help of man. [13] Through God we shall do valiantly: For he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

Do you think, from what you just read, that the parable of the persistent widow speaks also to this prayer of King David? Who did King David go to? Who did he trust to bring the victory for him and the host that went out with him to the battle front?

Who is mankind’s advisory? Or, shall I ask this, who have the unrighteous masses of our current age surrender to? Has this world conceded to unrighteousness and the forces we read of in Ephesians 6? Will Christ find faith in the earth when he returns, will he find those that love GOD the Father first and above all? In the parable of the rich man and Lazarus, what did Abraham say to the rich man when he asked for water? Who then is it that is having things their way in the world we live in? Are we not bombarded with wickedness everyday? Who is our advisory, in this world in which we live, to which we do not belong? Who will have the victory in the end, is it not our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ? Will not the only Begotten Son of GOD even come to Israel’s salvation when they repent and say, “Blessed is He that comes in the Name of the LORD?” Do we not cry before the Lord, for the unrighteousness of those in this world? Are we not to endure all this until our Groom returns?

What is left to consider in our prayers before the LORD our GOD? Do we pray in accordance to His Will to be done here on the earth as it is in heaven, and for His Kingdom to come? Do we pray that wickedness should be no more? Do we pray according to the statutes of GOD, do we not cry for the protection of the innocent and those whose names are written in the Book of Life? Has the church been strapped in, put in bounds and prevented from doing what is right, oppressed on every side and has the good nature of the righteous been taken advantage of by ravaging wolves? Did we bring our heartaches and pain before the LORD, while in the world, we turned the other cheek? How long have we yearned for righteousness and to live in peace with all? Let’s read again from the beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount.

Matthew 5:3-12 KJV

[3]  Blessed are the poor in spirit: for their’s is the kingdom of heaven. [4]  Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. [5]  Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. [6]  Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. [7]  Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. [8]  Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. [9]  Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. [10]  Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for their’s is the kingdom of heaven. [11]  Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. [12] Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

At times you may grow tired while you endure all in this world. The Spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. At times, the oppression that comes from the enemy may lay heavy upon you, even so that you may wonder if you would have more if you concede to the wickedness in this world. Remember then this parable of this persistent widow, as you pray to God in Heaven, our Father, in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who made us the Children of GOD by the Sacrifice He made for us. Be persistent for righteousness, endure and be strong in the long suffering. Forget not mercy and grace and the gift of Love that has been planted in you. Have compassion for those who have fallen victim to the enemy of mankind, praying with Christ our Lord, “Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.” For the real enemy of GOD and all His children is the advisory and all of heaven that went after him in his rebellion against the Throne of GOD Almighty. For we struggle not against flesh and blood… All things work for good for them that trust in GOD and are the called according to His purpose (Ephesians 6:12 and Romans 8:28)

Do not lose sight of where you are heading to, that new city of Jerusalem, that will descend out of the New Heaven unto a New Earth. (Revelation 21 and 22)

Ephesians 5:25-27 KJV

[25] Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; [26] that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, [27] that he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

The focus of this scripture here is verse 27. Christ will present to Himself a pure bride. You are not alone. The GOD that kept Daniel safe in the Lion’s Den is with you. He gave you authority over wicked and evil spirits, even over the beasts of the field. But, that authority only comes in Christ Jesus His only Begotten Son, that made the way open for us to be redeemed to God our Father, as the Children of the Most High Creator GOD. Where we may fail He will not.

Matthew 21:28-32 KJV

[28]  But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard. [29] He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went. [30] And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not. [31] Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you. [32] For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.

Note for 20241026

I might as well have called this hypocrisy. A few times now, over the last couple of weeks, we have discussed what we are called to do as followers of Christ. We have looked at what the Lord Jesus Christ said our faith must look like, and what the Kingdom of GOD is like.

This parable was spoken unto the Pharisees and Scribes, who had an outward appearance of righteousness, but Christ called them hypocritical. They spoke all the written words and judged others harshly according to the Law, but were without substance within themselves. This serves us as a reminder that our yes must be yes and our no, no. But, it is almost more important to repent if we are in the wrong and get on with what we were instructed to do and to live as we should, in righteousness. Remember how we read in the Sermon on the mount that our righteousness must exceed that of the Pharisees and scribes? And were we not called to testify for Christ Jesus, the Savior of Mankind, and bring the Gospel (Good News) to every creature on earth?

Many today are like this second son, who say will do something but never follow through on it. Some you see in church on Sundays, but when you look at the rest of the week; there is a major departure in what they say and do. We have discussed this too, when we looked at the fact that Jesus said we cannot serve two masters. Remember also, how we looked at what James wrote, that faith without works is dead?

What do we agree to in the sight of GOD when we say we will follow Christ? Is it with a bumper sticker on our car? Let me tell you about the time I had a bumper sticker on my car. It read “JESUS” in bright yellow on the back bumper. One day, I was driving faster than I should on the highway at night. Passing under a bridge, that famous moment arrived where my car was lit up by a bright flash, and in the Spirit I heard, “You just gave Jesus a speed fine.” Christ fulfilled the Law, but I drag His Name into shame.

When we say we follow Christ, but live as if we don’t, what do we teach others? What is the testimony of our actions? It is actions like this that brings our faith in Jesus Christ to shame. The fact is, that all our sin was pinned on Christ, when He hung on that cross in our place. So, it does not require a bright yellow sticker on the bumper of your car to bring shame on the House of GOD, but the sticker does make it clear.

On the Spiritual side of things, we all wear the Name of Christ when we accept Him. So, I will end off with another scripture that will serve us well to remember.

Acts 19:13-18 KJV

[13] Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. [14] And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. [15] And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? [16] And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. [17] And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. [18] And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds.

These wanted to use the Name of Jesus Christ for their purpose, but even the evil spirit could see that they were not of Christ. This is one account. Now, when the bottomless pit is opened, as we read in the Book of Revelation; do you think a bumper sticker will be enough?

We must carry Christ out, in Word and Deed.

Shallom

Ephesians 3:14-21 KJV

[14] For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, [15] of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, [16] that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; [17] that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, [18] may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; [19] and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. [20] Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, [21] unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Matthew 20:1-16 KJV

[1]  For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard. [2] And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard. [3] And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, [4] and said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way. [5] Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise. [6] And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle? [7] They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive. [8] So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first. [9] And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny. [10] But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny. [11] And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house, [12] saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day. [13] But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny? [14] Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee. [15] Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good? [16] So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.

Note for 20241025

We have read a few times in the Word of GOD that the first shall be last and the last shall be first. The Jews were unhappy with Christ and His disciples for consideration of the sinners, shall we be unhappy if GOD redeems them just before the end?

Friends, because of what I do, this is a great warning for me. And it should be for those who have laboured for the Lord a long time. Let us remember that the goal is to save the souls of mankind. Let us remember that GOD is GOD of all, whether they acknowledge Him or not, He is the Creator of all. We give nothing to others, than from that which we received from GOD first.

We are the labourers in the field, don’t you know that by now? Through trials and tribulations shall we enter into the Kingdom of GOD. And what are we called to do?

Jude 1 KJV

[21] Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. [22] And of some have compassion, making a difference: [23] And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

Ephesians 6 KJV

[12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Are we not all called to service for the same Eternal Salvation in Jesus Christ?

He that is the pay master is the steward that pays the wage of all. But, the steward of the lord can only give what the lord permits. Who is it that conditions the heart of man to find favour for another?

Exodus 14 KJV

[4] And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the Lord. And they did so.

Now I ask you, why do man riot in the streets for higher wages? In the Lord’s prayer, we pray for GOD’S will to be done, but when it does not favour us… Do we riot in the streets or even in our heart? Do we go to war with the steward, the pay master? Or, do we make our requests known to GOD in prayer, in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ?

Let’s see… Some of you may know that a wind gust brought half a tree down on our property this week. The insurance said that they would not pay out for the felling of the compromised tree and removal of the rubble, after the work has been done. We prayed to GOD, for we were under the impression that they would, from conversations that we had with them. There were risks of damage, concerns for injury and loss of life for passers by, so we went ahead before we heard that they wouldn’t pay. The end result, after peacefully making our case: they did pay out and the labourers, who worked so hard, received their reward for their labour. GOD brought the outcome that was fair.

In this life, if we stand under the protection of the LORD, we can see the heavenly principles at work. But, that means that we must live by them too, not only call on GOD when it serves us best. Why do we riot in the street then, to force someone else to do things according to our will? No, friends; then we have become like the hirelings that murmured in their hearts that we read of in this parable. Shall we complain if GOD chooses to save someone we don’t approve of? Be ready then, for you will see it. For when Israel repents before the Lord in their hour of distress, the Lord will save them, just as it is written. Shall we then cry about our persecution, even if it came by their hands? Shall we not rejoice for the lost sons that have returned? For he that is first shall be last and he that is last shall be first… Is that not written here in the scripture of today? We are called, but who was chosen? Does repentance come without some trouble? Are they being troubled now, with a prospect of more trouble? What is written? Let GOD’S will be done, for He has worked out the Salvation plan for all. Trust in God above all.

Shalom

Psalm 139:13-17 KJV

[13] For thou hast possessed my reins: Thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. [14] I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: Marvellous are thy works; And that my soul knoweth right well. [15] My substance was not hid from thee, When I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. [16] Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; And in thy book all my members were written, Which in continuance were fashioned, When as yet there was none of them. The Rich Man and Lazarus

The Audio Version of today’s note

The House of Bread · Voice Note For 20241024 – The Rich Man And Lazarus – Parables Of Christ – Part 21

Luke 16:19-31 KJV

[19]  There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: [20] and there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, [21] and desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. [22] And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; [23] and in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. [24] And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. [25] But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. [26] And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. [27] Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: [28] for I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. [29] Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. [30] And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. [31] And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Note for 20241024

Once more we have a famous parable and we run the risk of thinking that we know it well. I have seen how fewer people read or listen when they read a title they know. Is that not exactly what Abraham was speaking of to this rich man in hell? Christ Jesus has risen from the grave, look and see how many take his Word seriously.

Is this risk only because of the luxury of a rich man? No, there are some who curse GOD for their circumstances, their loss and misfortunes. What we all have access to that is common to both rich and poor is the Word of GOD. Does the Word of GOD not instruct us to be kind even to strangers? Did Solomon not write that to give to the poor is to make a loan to GOD? Regret comes too late, so we have learned. And many never learn at all, until that final breath is gone. Today, the Word of GOD is made available for us like we find here in the YouVersion Bible App, where we can carry the Word of GOD with us for reference everywhere we go. What excuse will we have if we come to the everlasting habitation that we read of in this parable? Remember, this is red letter text and the words of Jesus Christ Himself.

You know, each of us can consider for ourselves who we relate to in this parable. Are we like the rich man or like Lazarus? Let me then ask you a question, have you seen others less fortunate than you? What is it to be rich? Maybe another question may bring more understanding; is the Word of GOD not the Bread of Life? Is it not life-giving water for the thirsty soul? How quick can we then be brought to a new perspective; while we may cry for material substance, do we not possess the Word of GOD? Do we share that with those who appear rich outwardly, but who are starving for that which sustains the soul? Who is the rich man then? Remember how Christ told Simon Peter to feed His sheep?

We can so easily consider ourselves troubled for bread and forget that we have bread of heaven that we can share with others. Words of wisdom from the Word of GOD engraved in our hearts. If you have to give to others and you don’t have you not become just like the rich man in this parable? Judge not lest ye be judged, for all of us can show kindness to one another. Yet, let it not be forgotten, that a man without food is left to suffer in the flesh and it will torment his soul. When the guard abandons his post at the gate, the hungry will come for what you have.

Let us conclude for now, there is much to consider here. My advice will be that we pay close attention to those around us in this day and the ones to follow, GOD sparing us, that we do not withhold from others for the sake of luxury, nor by assumption that they have what they need. Not even for the consideration that another might help where we didn’t, especially when it comes to the knowledge we have found in the Word of GOD. Not neglecting, that which fills the tummy and that which quench thirst.

“…Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.” (Acts 3:6 KJV)

While we then still have breath in us, let us walk according to the Spirit that indwells with us. Give from what we have to others and pray to our Father GOD in Heaven to sustain us with our daily Bread.

Shalom

Verse of The Day

(YouVersion – Expanded from verse 15)

1 John 4:11-17 KJV

[11] Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. [12] No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. [13] Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. [14] And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. [15] Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. [16] And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. [17] Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

The Audio Version of today’s note:

The House of Bread · Voice Note For 20241023 – The Unfaithful Servant – Parables Of Christ – Part 20

Luke 16:1-14 KJV

[1] And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods. [2] And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward. [3] Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed. [4] I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses. [5] So he called every one of his lord’s debtors unto him, and said unto the first, How much owest thou unto my lord? [6] And he said, An hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty. [7] Then said he to another, And how much owest thou? And he said, An hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and write fourscore. [8] And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light. [9] And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations. [10] He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. [11] If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? [12] And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own? [13] No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. [14] And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.

Note for 20241023

Mammon, or GOD? You know, there are many that quote from this parable without understanding. What is an everlasting habitation? Is that not where eternity will be spent? Look at the conditions under which man is to make friends with the unrighteous Mammon. Can you see that it is when you forsake GOD, when you live by greed? We are called to live by faith. Might there be a spiritual attachment to greed? So, this is then the task I leave to you today, find out who Mammon is. Research it, because I guarantee you; when you see it for yourself, if you are standing for righteousness and the will of GOD, you will not want any part in it.

The title those who codified the Bible gave this scripture is, “The Unjust Steward.” I was given to call it “The Unfaithful Servant.” If you are standing divided between a love for GOD and a love for this world of unrighteousness, you will utilize that which serves your own survival best. Do you remember how we read in the Book of Revelation about being either hot or cold? What did Christ say He will do to the lukewarm? Be then friends to whom you belong to. You see, this parable is actually quite clear.

Money, or wealth, can be used for things of righteousness; but so soon the spirit of it lures a person to hoard more-and-more unto himself. It is so easy to lose sight of Who provides for man, and rely on wealth to save you out of trouble. Where is faith in Christ then?

I remind you again, by way of a question; what is an everlasting habitation? Man is called to make friends with those he will spend an eternity with. Will you walk by the flesh or by the Spirit? Can you remember what Christ said to the rich man who enquired what he had to do to enter the Kingdom of GOD? What shall you do if your right arm makes you stumble, or you cannot trust your eyes? Christ said it is better to enter into the Kingdom of GOD as a cripple, than the whole body to be lost. Choose righteousness. Have a heart and mind for the righteousness of Christ. Do the right thing, according to the Word of GOD, not the thing of unrighteousness that will get you out of trouble in the moment. Choose to trust in GOD, that He will deliver you, and until He does, you might just have work to do for His Kingdom, where you are. How many have Paul led to Christ while he was in chains, a prisoner? We live for GOD’S convenience, not our own.

I don’t know about you, but for me, this brings a great deal of clarification at this moment. This parable speaks on what or who we turn to for our deliverance. I will wait on Jesus Christ and the Will of GOD, patiently. GOD’S will be done.

Shalom

The Lost Son

The Audio Version of today’s note

The House of Bread · Voice Note For 20241022 – The Lost Son – Parables Of Christ – Part 19

Luke 15:1-10 KJV

[1] Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him. [2] And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.  [3] And he spake this parable unto them, saying, [4] What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? [5] And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. [6] And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost. [7] I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.  [8]  Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it? [9] And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost. [10] Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

Note for 20241022

I am sure most have heard this parable by now. It is probably one of the most famous parables of Christ. That being said, we should always approach the Word of GOD as if it is the first time we hear it. You see, when we think we know something well enough, we might not listen closely. Maybe, we won’t listen at all, saying, “I know this well.” The dangers in that should be evident.

Yesterday we read of the lost sheep and this closely speaks to the same matter. Don’t we all come from Adam? I know there are those that say we come from apes, but the Word of GOD simply does not support that. And as man was formed in the image of GOD, I would not go around making that claim to anyone. So mankind closely resembles this lost son, for man left the house of GOD our Father in Heaven. The son that stayed and obeyed his father’s commands, resembles those of Judah, of course; while the lost son also points to those of the other tribes of Israel that was considered the Northern Kingdom of Israel, after Israel was split in two. So we got the house of Israel pointing to those lost tribes and the House of Judah as those that remained behind. The House of Jacob in reference, would point to both kingdoms.

Now that we have some terminology in place, we need to briefly look at some history for understanding. After Solomon, the tribes were split into two kingdoms. The House of Israel (the Northern Kingdom) went after idols, when their king set up golden calves for them to worship. This he did, so that his subjects would not go to the house of GOD in Jerusalem and love the King of Judah, to follow him instead. According to the Word, there were those that forsake their property to go to Judah, because they would not bow before these idols.

The Northern tribes were taken into captivity by the Assyrians. In 2 Kings 17 you can read of the account where Assyrians were made to live in the territories of Northern Israel, even how the Assyrian King sent them a priest of the House of Israel to teach his subjects to pray and obey the Lord of that land. The House of Israel was settled in the land of the Assyrians.

This history, the Pharisees would have known, which is part of their destain for the Galileans and Samaritans we read of in the New Testament. You see, not only did they know who were settled in the territories of Northern Israel, the Gentiles as we know them, but also because the House of Israel abandoned their faith in the One True God of Jacob. The seed of the House of Israel were mingled with the gentiles, and they went after the gods of those nations to which they were scattered. Maybe now the ministry of Paul to the gentiles might be understood better.

Matthew 15 KJV

[24] But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. [25] Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. [26] But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs. [27] And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table. [28] Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

Do you think our Lord Jesus Christ knew the history of these people; His people? Now, you can also go read about the promise GOD made to Abraham, how all the nations would be blessed in his seed. Our Lord knew, just as these Pharisees knew who he was speaking about in the parable of the lost son. They were “the son” who would not come in to celebrate in the feast of “the repentant son.” They knew the prophecies of the Messiah that would come. They were unwilling to celebrate the reunion, for they stayed with GOD, they thought, and obeyed the laws of GOD and thought that what was left of the inheritance was all theirs.

Now, for more details on how valid their claims were you can read of the interactions of Christ with them. He called them hypocrites, the seed of the serpent and the synagogue of Satan. Now, to understand those interactions, you will need to read Ezra 9.

Oh! The Pharisees and scribes knew exactly what Christ was talking about in this parable, they were devout scholars of the Torah, the writings of the Prophets of GOD (whom their father’s killed) and the history of their people. And they were not pleased what Christ was saying, speaking from that which He received of His Father in Heaven.

For us today, by grace and mercy; even the servants are invited to feast with our Father in Heaven, by the Sacrifice of GOD for Mankind. As we learn more and more from the Word of GOD, it makes the words of Christ our Lord even more profound. It brings Glory to the Merciful Father in Heaven that we worship in the Name of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, who made atonement for our sin and fulfilled the law so we may be set free.

I sincerely hope that this brief look at the parable of the lost son today brought you even more assurance in the Salvation we have in Christ Jesus.

Shalom

Verse of The Day

(YouVersion – expanded from verse 16)

Psalm 59:14-17 KJV

[14] And at evening let them return; And let them make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city. [15] Let them wander up and down for meat, And grudge if they be not satisfied. [16] But I will sing of thy power; Yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: For thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble. [17] Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: For God is my defence, and the God of my mercy.

The House of Bread · Voice Note For 20241021 – The Lost Sheep – Parables Of Christ – Part 18

Note for 20241021

This morning’s scripture is more than what it may appear at first. For many here, these are very well known parables, but there are still those that may not have heard of it yet. There is a lesson, right in the face value of the reading of it; but do not neglect why Christ spoke these to begin with. This started with a murmuring of Christ receiving sinners. Let us bring another parable close to this one…

Luke 18:9-14 KJV

[9] And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: [10] Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. [11] The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. [12] I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. [13] And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. [14] I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Today, I want to confess something to you brothers and sisters. I am well aware that it is believers that read here what GOD gives me to feed His sheep. In fact, I know too of all those that  receive the Word and never have time for it. I even know of the inner-murmuring of, “it is too long, too much, I cannot keep up. It’s overwhelming.” I even know of the thoughts of, “God will understand, I don’t have time for this.” I even know that some will read here today, who haven’t read in a long time, just as I know that there will be those that read this here for the first time. Some people are willfully lost, while others are searching for a voice they can trust. Can you be considered a “lost-sheep” found? How grand it would be to hear the lambs, for I speak to a silent audience.

Here is another confession: I trust your salvation to the LORD, as much as I trust the LORD for mine. I bring my testimony, so GOD may use it as He pleases. In a like manner, I ask you to forward this on to some of your friends and family, even if you yourself do not always have the time to read all of it. Share it forward, and trust the Lord that it will reach those that it must, even if it is just one word or sentence that someone had to hear, to make a choice he/she may have been struggling with. The LORD will present to Himself a pure bride. He will complete in us what He has started.

Does that mean that we become hypocrites? Surely, these scriptures warn against that. I am simply asking you to pass it on, so those that may want or need it can find it.

Do you know how many have left their places of gathering because of being hurt? They are like these lost sheep Christ spoke of in the scripture, waiting in the wilderness to hear the call of their Shepherd. Do not deny them that. If you are not fully ready, don’t let that prevent the call to come back home to escape others. This is indeed a call back home. This is an alarm to come back in, for the wolves are out; yes, the lion is on the prowl to tear all that he finds unprotected. The unrepented are ready too, for a harvest that may start soon; if not started already, and we can just not see it yet.

Now! Let us test ourselves, less we become lost too. Have we got the Shepherd in view? Can we see our fellow sheep? Or, have we become like that lost coin, stuck somewhere, no one will think to look? Do we appease ourselves with repetitive words of, “I’m okay. I’m okay,” while feeling all alone in this world. You know getting lost is always preceded with thoughts like that. You think to yourself, “it’s not so bad, I can get out of this.” That is until you are really lost in a strange place, without an idea what is North or where East is. Have you got the Shepherd in view, because if you have Jesus in sight, you are not lost, even if you are in the wilderness. He is the Way back Home to GOD our Father, our Creator.

Do not get so lost, that you do not recognize repentance when you see it. Don’t forget who Christ died for, sinners like you and me. When you out in the wilderness proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, you are not lost… You are on task. Dare I say, you can get lost in a group of people, when you have lost sight of Christ.

So, whosoever you find that is still lost, help them home. Even if that person is you, just come to the Lord in the humility of this publican the Pharisees dismissed, and call on the Name of GOD. Call out to your Shepherd, He will find you.

Shalom.
