2 Peter 3:1-18 KJV

[1] This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: [2] that ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: [3] knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, [4] and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. [5] For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: [6] whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: [7] but the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. [8] But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. [9] The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. [10] But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. [11] Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, [12] looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? [13] Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. [14] Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. [15] And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; [16] as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. [17] Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. [18] But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

Note for 20250213

So we have come to the end of our reading of the writing of Peter. Next we will be reading from the Book of Luke, to go over his testimony of Jesus Christ our Lord. So often, we are drawn by new things, be that a new account or a profound interpretation: which I want to warn you against, knowing that the knowledge of Jesus Christ comes most pure from His own words, and then those that stood witness of Him.

Here Peter makes it clear, as the prophets did, that the end of this world will come with fire. In fact, he is more precise when he speaks of a fervent heat. Are you like those that Peter wrote about, that think the Lord slacks in His return? The words of Christ rings in me again, “as the days of Noah.” Peter reminds us here, as he was told by Jesus, that His return will be unexpected, that He will come as a thief in the night, in an hour we expect Him not. Then I see mankind around me, just like then, they carry on in their iniquity without repentance. A little more sleep, a little more slumber and so their destruction will come. Who can say that no one boar witness unto them, when we carry the witness of wiping dust from our feet?

However, I have noticed a certain kind of slackness among those who claim to be of Christ; some in truth and others without any knowledge of Christ. I have heard a preaching led by the Holy Spirit, but also from the doctrines of man, which are like lullabies to keep the children at sleep. I have further noticed a change in the star that gives us light on earth, that it is changing. When I was still a photographer, I noticed the shift in white balance in a short space of time. But those that are lazy, have been fooled by the automatic calculation of clever technology. I know, our sun is changing. Listen to what Peter writes here…

2 Peter 3:11-12 KJV

[11] Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, [12] looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

https://bible.com/bible/1/2pe.3.11-12.KJV

Where did Peter learn about this truth, is it not from his witness of what Jesus said? Shall I remind you again also of what Malachi said?

Malachi 4:1-3 KJV

[1] For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. [2] But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. [3] And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.

The word “Sun” here is no translation error, it is brought from the Hebrew word “Shemesh.” Did the Lord Jesus not say, that when we see all that He mentioned in Matthew 24 come to be, that we must look up, for our redemption draws near? Here I am, called by the Lord to do what I do, in an attempt to snatch some from the flame of fire. Am I alone in this attempt, or has the Holy Spirit been calling out to you too? How many of you have been called at night like Samuel? And yet there are those that heard the call, but turned over in their beds, too tired from their burdens in this world? Have you been called? Shall I ask it in such a way that you might understand better from within. Have you been called to some end time ministry, some afraid of the message that is ringing like a bell in them. Almost like a trumpet call of the Lord to get up before the Sun arises, long before the world wakes up, to come before the Lord their GOD in prayer. The truth of this is between you and the Lord, and yet, so many in the faith profess this already.

Shall I then kick up the intensity a further notch? Why are so many then still fast asleep and locked on their benches in a seating position? Is there no urgency in you, is there no urgency in the Spirit within you? Look around you. Have you not noticed that even the Wicked is working at full steam to bring in the dark kingdom that was prophesied to us? They too know their time is short. It appears that it is those that are pacified by entertainment and the lusts of the flesh that are still fast asleep, standing in an ignorance of what is playing out in their view. And now some might want to call me a doomsday prophet. Yet, it is not of doom I speak alone, but also, and chiefly so, salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ.

What am I to do if the Word in me is not received? What was the instruction to the disciples? Shall I wipe the dust off my feet or plead a little longer? My heart is to plead, and yet, I must move along on my journey before the Lord.

Here is my good advice, when the Lord calls to you, get up. Rise and meet Him in your inner room and work out your salvation with the Lord in fear and trembling. For this Sun Malachi wrote of, it will rise and the wicked will be burned up. The message of this has come from the early ages, and Jesus Christ confirmed it. He confirmed it to His disciples, and again to us by John on Patmos in the last book of our Bible, the Revelation of Jesus Christ. How long will you sip at milk? Shall you ever eat the meat that is available to you in the Word of GOD?

Prayer:

Father, my Lord God Almighty. Call out to Your sheep so they may hear Your Voice. Amen.

Selah, Shalom.

The House of Bread · Voice Note for 20250212 – The Gospel of Jesus Christ – Part 69 – 2 Peter 2 – A Certain Strangeness

2 Peter 2:1-22 KJV

[1] But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. [2] And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. [3] And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. [4] For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; [5] and spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; [6] and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; [7] and delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: [8] (for that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;) [9] the Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished: [10] but chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities. [11] Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord. [12] But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption; [13] and shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the daytime. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you; [14] having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children: [15] which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; [16] but was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man’s voice forbad the madness of the prophet. [17] These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever. [18] For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. [19] While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. [20] For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. [21] For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. [22] But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

Note for 20250212

I have often spoken about the fact that all are not the same. In the same way as what Peter warns against these false teachers, Jude does too; and yet, so many among us remain silent on the matter. Not a peep is heard from many pulpit on these spots on our feasts of charity. Remember how Judas were upset when the woman poured out expensive Spikenard on the Lord? While Peter in error, moved by his carnal mind tried to prevent the Lord from His walk towards the cross, and denied the Lord three times, wept fervently when he remembered the words Christ; Judas had greed at heart, was offended by the “waste” he saw regarding the Spikenard, had his eyes on the money bags and sold the Lord out the His enemy for 30 pieces of silver. Did Judas repent like Peter, or did he take his own life?

Let us look at Jude account of these strange men…

Jude 1:1-25 KJV

[1] Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called: [2] mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied. [3] Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. [4] For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. [5] I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. [6] And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. [7] Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. [8] Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities. [9] Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. [10] But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves. [11] Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. [12] These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; [13] raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever. [14] And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, [15] to execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. [16] These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage. [17] But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; [18] how that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. [19] These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. [20] But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, [21] keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. [22] And of some have compassion, making a difference: [23] and others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. [24] Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, [25] to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

https://bible.com/bible/1/jud.1.1-25.KJV

Is Peter and Jude speaking the same? Note how these are intent on merchandise and profits. Peter says that they will merchandise you. Is there a monetary value on Salvation, did Christ request a payment from you? By faith and mercy, the grace of GOD is extended to sinners who repent. Once more I want to make a certain mention of the inability of these to repent, who instead justify their own actions by excuse and altering the Word of GOD to suit them. They will teach others the same diluted gospel that they themselves speak, even as what they speak cannot save them from their coming destruction. And they repented not, neither will they repent at any time, but Judas, they walk towards their own destruction, cutting themselves off from the common salvation in Jesus Christ.

Note how both Jude and Peter references Balaam. What then of the mention of Cain? There is always gain in the mind of these, whether it be in the pleasures of the flesh, financial gains or even to gain power over others. They are the tares upon the field, which the angels will gather in and cast into the fire. They are brute bullies that congregate with the saints, wolves in sheep’s-clothing tearing at the Children of GOD.

Look at the start of the letter of Jude, how he intended to write unto the church on the common faith, but by necessity had to write on this “problem” in the church. These are those with a respect of person, who judge men with favor to the person and so the poor will be robbed of fair judgement. The outwardly beautiful will receive a better treatment just for the appealing nature of the flesh alone. They will elevate themselves so they can sow their corruption among those that have been washed clean, by the temptations that reign in them. By their fruit shall you know them, and among you you will find them, for they prowl among the righteous like roaring lions. Both the lion and the wolf you will find where they can tare at the flesh they devour. They are charmers, soothsaying predators always out for the gain for self.

This does leave the righteous with somewhat of a tricky situation. For, while we can not say that evil is good, we cannot withhold the salvation of Jesus Christ. For that we need discernment by the Holy Spirit. If then not by the Spirit, how will we know, when these walk around among us with a mask of purity. Like their father, the devil, they present themselves as angels of light. How can man overcome these without Jesus Christ? If ever there has been a reason to mature in your faith in Jesus Christ, this might be secondary to our purpose of salvation in our faith, that we might be well prepared in righteousness to save the young and snatch them from the fire. Increase in the knowledge, wisdom and strength in Jesus Christ, so these will flee from among you. You overcome the lies of the enemy with the Truth of Jesus Christ. You resist temptations and overcome by Him that is in you, even the Spirit of the Most High GOD. In Jesus Christ we have both the Power and Authority to drive out demons from amongst us. If these find no occasion to feed among the sheep, they will move on to other hunting grounds.

Fear not these, for greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world. If you belong to Christ Jesus, then these will flee from the Spirit that reign in you. Be then, wise as serpents and gentle as doves, and remember charity towards one another. Be of one mind in Jesus Christ, for in divisions these feast.

Selah, Shalom

2 Peter 1:1-21 KJV

[1] Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: [2] grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, [3] according as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: [4] whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. [5] And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; [6] and to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; [7] and to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. [8] For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. [9] But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. [10] Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: [11] for so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. [12] Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth. [13] Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance; [14] knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me. [15] Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance. [16] For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. [17] For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. [18] And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. [19] We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: [20] knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. [21] For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Note for 20250211

Though I wrote about an uncomfortable truth this morning, it should not be for those that believe in the truth. While there is much to learn here of all that we should strive for, today we look more precisely to the Way we have been shown by Jesus Christ. Some may even say it is an unfortunate truth, even a truth that is hard to face despite that we have stood witness to it so many times. Listen to what Peter writes…

2 Peter 1:14 KJV

[14] knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.

https://bible.com/bible/1/2pe.1.14.KJV

Friends, dying is part of the cycle of man; but, to those who believe in Jesus Christ, it is not an everlasting death but more of a transition to what comes next. Surely, Paul wrote that not all of us will die, but assures us that all will change. Learning that when Christ appears, the dead in Christ will rise first and then, those that are yet alive at the time will be called up to join Jesus and the saints in the air. Surely this is not a new revelation, but a re-affirmation of what is known. Jesus showed the way unto ascension to our Father in Heaven, through the grave and the resurrection. So much so that we are reminded of the certain hope of the resurrection.

2 Peter 1:19 KJV

[19] We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

Now this for some might be harder to take to heart, that Jesus Christ must first arise within our hearts. Knowing then that there is a qualification that we must attain, by our faith in Jesus Christ. That, while we still live, we must mortify the flesh, be reborn of the Spirit, that Christ may rise in us. That we may adopt the light of the Day Star, which is Christ. For this reason, Peter reminds us at the start of this letter of the Spiritual properties of our faith and also of the promise of prophecy, written by Holy men moved by the Holy Ghost. So too is the law of GOD written upon the tables of our heart, that such virtue may be contained in us.

2 Peter 1:5-7 KJV

[5] And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; [6] And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; [7] And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

Is faith in Jesus Christ then without labour? But, in our faith we may know that in our weakness, His strength is made manifest. For the Glory of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, we obtain mercy when our heart is set on the Kingdom of GOD. So, when this tabernacle must be laid down, we await the resurrection promised by Jesus Christ, in the way that He has shown, and as Peter here confirms. While some may yet be alive at His appearance, who will change in the blink of an eye, most of us will meet Him again in the resurrection, when this temple is rebuilt by Jesus Christ, and we ascend to join Him in the air. So, by the Blood of our Lord and Saviour, sin has no hold on the believer in Jesus Christ, and death has lost its bite.

But, before that comes, we first have our bit to do here on earth for our Saviour, contained in His instruction to us, that starts with love for GOD our Father, first, and for our neighbour, second. Then we will be with Him at our transition, in the paradise of GOD, just as He promised the repenting sinner on the cross, “today you will be with me in paradise.” We do not hold on to a false hope, but onto a promise made by GOD.

Selah, Shalom.

Verse of The Day

From the YouVersion Bible App for 20250211 (Expanded from verse 10)

Hebrews 4:9-12 KJV

[9] There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. [10] For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. [11] Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. [12] For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

1 Peter 5:1-14 KJV

[1] The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: [2] feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; [3] neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. [4] And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. [5] Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. [6] Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: [7] casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. [8] Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: [9] whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. [10] But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. [11] To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. [12] By Silvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand. [13] The church that is at Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you; and so doth Marcus my son. [14] Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity. Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen.

Note for 20250210

Filthy lucre is dishonest gain. While the meaning of the words may easily be found, understanding can take a little more time. It is somewhat like knowing that people are laid to rest when the body fails, but the loss of it is only learned in truth when it is someone you would rather not have lost. So often, in hearing a definition, we think we understand because we have heard the definition, but the truth of it is known by experience or true revelation by GOD that can tug at the heart strings and confound the mind. Because of this, much of the lessons in the Word of GOD may be understood one way by consideration of the carnal mind, but when it comes in truth, then our foundations are shaken and the eyes give up their moisture.

Friends, what is gain? What can be gained? Yes, it is true, things like money and gifts, but what about fame and respect? What is it then to project yourself one way to others, but in the heart stand in hate? What is the worth of an embrace of apparent compassion, when the truth in us is of hate? This becomes even more complex, when the soul may be loved, but the deeds repel. Should the truth not be declared for the sake of the soul?

Peter speaks somewhat to this fact when he speaks to the elders of the church, and the most profound of it for me is contained in this verse.

1 Peter 5:3 KJV

[3] neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.

https://bible.com/bible/1/1pe.5.3.KJV

I might not be the eldest, but I am by reason of age, experience and faith an elder indeed. Like Peter admitting that he too is an elder, he speaks to the elders here in this chapter first, that we should lead by example. When the words say one thing and the deeds show another thing, then we have become hypocrites. Filthy lucre, for the demand of fame, embarrassed by our walk before Christ. Dishonest gain, by identifying as an elder, when our walk with Christ is that of a baby, crying for everything we want and for others to bring it to grasp.

This however does not just apply to one age group within the church. For the same is true if you pretend to be someone that you are not in truth. Many projects may be on the way, when in truth they are swimming in mud pools all week long, washing only for church or when the Pastor walks in. Whitewashed stones, showing a pretense of sanctity on the outside, having dead bones within.

Now, you may ask me how this applies to all. If the truth of you are not known, how are your brothers and sisters in the Faith supposed to help? We walk in a stance of “all is fine,” when in truth, our house might be collapsing at the foundation. Look at verses 9 and 10, we know that all suffer the afflictions of the world and that perfection only comes after we have suffered a little while. You and I know that the little while might seem like an entire lifetime, going through it, and indeed it might be because of the prowling lion. Peter says it so beautifully when he says we should be subject one to the other, for in subjection we learn about humility. And if then called for in the church, would it not be called for in the house?

Friends, let me assure you, that upset in the home and church comes about when others do not meet your expectations. Are they called for your purpose, or you for a servitude before others? Love is a giving thing, for others to receive. Humility is to lower yourself for the sake of others. It requires effort and restraint in self control, but receiving is to be honoured, it is sweet in the mouth, but it can become bitter within, when that leads to a false sense of entitlement. To receive is a blessing, but to give is to obey the Word of GOD. In servitude to Christ, we do to others what we would do for Him if he was here. And if Christ is in us, is He not in others? Can you remember your own suffering, then have compassion for those that suffer still. There is a president for that in the Law of Moses regarding the stranger and the slave, when GOD reminds Israel who they were in Egypt from where He delivered them with a mighty hand and strong arm.

In times past we ourselves were in the clutches of sin and death, fearing the termination of our life here on earth. But now, having our Great Hope in Jesus Christ unto eternal life, the fear of it is gone, replaced by the peace of GOD. In Christ we have found rest from such troubling thoughts. But he is still struggling, still in fear for his life in the midst of all his trouble, who did Jesus send unto him? Is it not you that Christ has freed from such concerns? Not everyone understands that we must walk the road ahead of us, regardless of the troubles on the way, with Christ strengthening us; they think that they will magically be taken out of this world. In Christ we receive the strength to walk the road we must, and to overcome with Him. In error some think that the trouble will be taken away. We are to be overcomers, aren’t we? We’ll whole you are still young in the faith your understanding of salvation might still be in error of expectation. For such the faith soon fades when they are left in this world to run the race of life right through it, never being told or shown that it is in Christ that victory comes. If you are in a deep dark pit, you might just have to climb all the way out of it. Yes, that means to overcome bad habits and walk out of addictions. Did we climb out in one day? Neither should we expect the young to be okay immediately, just because we are standing on the edge looking down on them. I’m some way then, we are still with them in the put if that is our expectation, for then we still have our own error to overcome. In this example, then see it like this. If then in submission to one another, in humility; can all of us work together to help each other out of the pit? Lend a helping hand, so that hand may be freed up also to help you in a time of need when you fall. Have you not read that GOD resists the proud? Or that pride comes before a fall?

What is neighbourly love? What is a brother or even a friend that is closer than a brother? It is those who are near in a time of trouble; then, be near to one another.

Selah, Shalom.

GOD bless and keep you. Amen

1 Peter 4:1-19 KJV

[1] Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; [2] that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. [3] For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries: [4] wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you: [5] who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead. [6] For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit. [7] But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. [8] And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. [9] Use hospitality one to another without grudging. [10] As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. [11] If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. [12] Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: [13] but rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. [14] If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. [15] But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters. [16] Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. [17] For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? [18] And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? [19] Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

Note for 20250209

You know, here in the scripture today, it is as if we read, line by line, the undefiled truth written by Peter (Kefa) that stands in competition with the doctrine of men today. It is here where we learn that love covers a multitude of sin. Let me give it to you from the Complete Jewish Bible…

1 Kefa (1 Pe) 4:7-8 CJB

[7] The accomplishing of the goal of all things is close at hand. Therefore, keep alert and self-controlled, so that you can pray. [8] More than anything, keep loving each other actively; because love covers many sins.

https://bible.com/bible/1275/1pe.4.7-8.CJB

Now, if you paid attention, I gave just a little more than just the mention of love covering many sins. Because, you see, it requires  elements of our faith that is stipulated in the previous verse; to keep alert and self-controlled, so we can pray. It is almost as if we can take it that if we are not watchful and exercise self-control, that we step away from the will of GOD. It is in an active love for one another that many sins are covered. It is not my words, friends, read it again.

Listen to the words of Paul to Timothy as he teaches him of the exact opposite to come.

2 Timothy 3:1-5 KJV

[1] This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. [2] For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, [3] Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, [4] Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God: [5] Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Man, today, elects his enemy in his neighbour, and from the words of Paul here that he wrote, the Spirit inspired text, we see what is at work when we do not obey Jesus in loving our neighbour as ourselves. Then, love does not cover many sins and being alert and self-controlled is to build up kingdoms for ourselves by throwing our neighbour under the bus.

Friends… You do realize that we are only looking at two verses of today’s text at this time, right? Line by line, Peter reveals here to us from the understanding he received from Christ Himself, in person, face to face. We are reading of the net result of the disciple Peter, how he has learned by the Word of Christ and the lessons he learned when he stood in error, just as we read in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

In the second part of this chapter, what about the suffering we are assured of? No wonder this is not preached, because who will come into a church today that guarantees that we will suffer in the flesh?

[15] But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters.

Once again, the matter of self-control enters in. “Let none of you suffer as…” doesn’t that imply that there is a choice in it? Peter said that he would not betray Jesus, and yet he denied Him three times in fear. Read again right here in this chapter…

[3] For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries: [4] Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:

Line by line we learn of the Truth of the life we live here on earth, that there is suffering in the flesh. The carnality of man is at enmity with the Spirit of GOD in us.

[14] If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.

Let us also read the verses before this again…

[12] Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: [13] But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

When we go through these trials here on earth, we suffer in the flesh. And the sin that manifests is judged in the flesh. But, the Spirit learns what is of GOD. Try the spirits if they are of GOD. In self-control then, do we not deny the things of the flesh, putting it to death, resisting the devil that he will flee from us? So we keep the watch in ourselves, we fast from sin. We deny ourselves from riotous behaviour, by the strength of the Spirit poured out in us that is of GOD. We separate ourselves from sin unto GOD.

What is the definition of “holy”

adjective: holy; comparative,

dedicated or consecrated to God or a religious purpose; sacred.

(of a person) devoted to the service of God.

morally and spiritually excellent.

At the end of the day, it is about the choices we make for Jesus Christ. And if we love Christ, we will love those that He loved enough to die for them. Did He die for the perfect, or sinners like you and me?

Why then do we read here from Peter that in an alert self-control we can cover many sins by our love/charity for others? It means you do not judge and condemn one another, but forgive and assist where help is needed, and so does the congregation of the saints come to full effect in the Spirit of GOD. I love and charity in us.

How can we then justify and excuse our harmful behaviours towards one another? Making others suffer in our love of self? Read again what Paul wrote to Timothy, and tell me we are not in the last times, while mankind loves himself at the cost of others? And in the act of “lovelessness” (hate) the many sins are not covered in charity any more, but exposed, shout out aloud in public in hate. No wonder Paul tells Timothy, from such, to turn away. By accusation and a lack of charity, man condemns one another straight to hell, as by offence and offenses, we deny the charity of Christ upon the cross for one another; and by our very own prayers, denying the forgiveness of sin to even ourselves. How foolish is that? What excuse shall we have at the Throne of GOD?

These notes are firstly for myself, friends. Don’t you know that? It forms part of my removal of the log from my own eye. That is the process that I share here with you. It is the contemplation on my life and what it looks like measured against the Word of GOD. I don’t know about you, but this I do know; that I still have a lot to learn in life. So if trials come in the flesh, while I am still here, while I can still make a choice for Christ in all the matters of the life we have been given, then I know that GOD has not yet given up on me. He is still working on me, delivering me from the error I found within. I am somewhat fearful to ask this question as it came to me, but am I then the only sinner left on the face of the earth?

Here is the good news: Christ died for sinners just like me. And by the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, I am still afforded day by day the opportunity to turn away from sin. That is a charity from GOD. And because I am acutely aware of the inner struggles, my heart find compassion for those around me, who struggle in an alike manner as me, published or not. So, when a brother or sister in the faith fails, I know that so do I. Then I know we share the same hope unto the perfection that will come at the appearance of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. In love then, many sins can be covered by the forgiveness we are afforded by Jesus Christ. That the sin in us, will remain behind in the flesh, which is of the dust of the earth; but that our breath may return to GOD from where it came. That which made us a living soul.

[6] For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.

Did Jesus not go into the grave and spend 3 days with the dead? What does this verse say to you now? Exactly what Jesus shared with the living, that when we die we will become like the angels.

Selah, Shalom.

1 Peter 3:1-22 KJV

[1] Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; [2] while they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. [3] Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; [4] but let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. [5] For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands: [6] even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement. [7] Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered. [8] Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: [9] not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. [10] For He that will love life, And see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips that they speak no guile: [11] Let him eschew evil, and do good; Let him seek peace, and ensue it. [12] For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, And his ears are open unto their prayers: But the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. [13] And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? [14] But and if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled; [15] but sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: [16] having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. [17] For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing. [18] For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: [19] by which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; [20] which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. [21] The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: [22] who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.

Note for 20250207

Today, there is some direction firstly for both the wife and the husband. Friends, when we read from the Word of GOD, there are often times that we read that which is hard to hear. This is especially so, if we are found in error, by the Word we read. Now, do we flip past the pages? Or, do we repent of our behaviour? Do we seek some other verses that will support our cause, or do we work on the log that we have found in our own eye, by the Word of GOD? We repent, right? We work on ourselves for the sake of purification, don’t we?

Since I am a man, I look at that which applies to the husband, and I think Peter is quite clear in his message, and I do not want my prayers to be hindered. But, as a believer, I am also part of the church, the bride of Jesus Christ. And if I am then a bride, then a wife and the weaker vessel, so shall I submit unto Jesus Christ, and call Him My Lord. While I may argue that the wife is often not weaker than the husband here on earth, I know exactly where I stand when I look at Jesus Christ. For, without Him, I am nothing and even my words become babbling. No, I want to be one with Him, and here on earth I can by the Holy Spirit. I am reminded that I have in times past, and sometimes still, regrettably, acted dishonourably. And Jesus forgave me, He covered my sin by His love for me. I am hidden in Him, and He receives me, when I repent. So do I wish to bring honor to Him, that He is the One that saved me. I was lost, and I was found by Him. He removed me from my shame. He made me honest and caring. When I feel weak, when I need strength, I go to Him. Sadly, I still struggle at times to submit, especially when I feel strongly about something in myself. But, more and more I have learned that I can Trust in His guidance. I can also trust in the Lord my GOD. I was brought into the House of GOD by adoption, by the Love of GOD and His Son, Jesus Christ. Having this experience, of how much patience Jesus has with me, it is now in my heart, to have patience with others. Sadly, I still struggle, far more than what I wish to admit. But, that is the truth still at this moment, and saying anything else would be a lie.

As a husband then, I will remember my walk with Jesus Christ. But, don’t you know that as I fail before Christ still, I also fail before my wife still. Once again, it is the inconvenient truth and how I hope that this report may be perfect at some point. Maybe I will have success in that today with the help of the Lord. Especially so, that the matter has been brought into focus by the Word of GOD again. May this remain with me, that I will not forget to do that which is right and bring shame upon the Name of Jesus Christ. May the LORD forgive us by His Mercy and Grace.

How are we then to look at one another, friends, when we still struggle with the basics? But, the end of this life here waits for no man, it is always on approach, it can come at any time. We trust that the Lord will bless and keep us each day, and extend more unto us until we get it right. Is there nothing to do today then? No requirement on us to live a better day than what we have in times past? Do we strive for righteousness from within? Or, are we still seeking every occasion to remain in sin? Because I failed yesterday, I do not want to fail today. Because I am forgiven, I do not want to err again. It is in my weakness that I lean harder on that of GOD in me, because I know that in carnality I soon fail. So, I look to the Word of GOD to be a lamp unto my feet, for without it, I stumble as a blind man at mid-day. I place my Hope on my betrothed, our Groom to come, the Lord Jesus Christ. Here is my comfort, that I am hidden in Christ, still will I bring every effort, to walk in righteousness each day.

I know, we have not even touched on half of the text here, but this is what there is for today.

Selah, Shalom

Isaiah 26:2-5 KJV

[2] Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in. [3] Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. [4] Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength: [5] for he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust.

1 Peter 2:1-25 KJV

[1] Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, [2] as newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: [3] if so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. [4] To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, [5] ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. [6] Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: And he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. [7] Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, The stone which the builders disallowed, The same is made the head of the corner, [8] and A stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. [9] But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: [10] which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. [11] Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; [12] having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation. [13] Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; [14] or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well. [15] For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: [16] as free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God. [17] Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king. [18] Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward. [19] For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully. [20] For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. [21] For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: [22] who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: [23] who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: [24] who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. [25] For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

Note for 20250206

What does Peter write about those that do not want to be corrected? That’s right, that Christ and the Gospel of Christ that we bring, will be offensive to them. It is not you who they reject, in fact, they would rather have you going along with what they do; no, they reject Jesus Christ in you. Tell me, where does it say to go to war with those that are against you, or even those who rule over you as masters? Does Peter not write here to honour the king? So many do not want to hear this message, they do not want to hear to live in peace with all men.

Man has done terrible things in the name of GOD, then they reference what Israel was led to do in Canaan. There is one major difference, GOD gave Canaan to the descendants of Jacob as an inheritance, and Moses made it quite clear why those who were driven out were to be removed from the face of the earth. (For a quick view, read the book of Jude.) Did GOD promise us territories here on earth, or is our reward stored up in heaven? You see, our inheritance is with Jesus Christ, which He will bring to us when we are redeemed. To avoid confusions, and I not be accused of offence, it is promised at the appearance of Jesus Christ, when He returns. No! Today, man grabs territory by greed and theft. Is it not written about in the law, not to move ancient boundary markers? And what of the jubilee, when man is to be restored to what is his by inheritance? What about the sabbatical year, when slaves are to be set free? Do you see it? Our oppression is because of man’s lawlessness, but are we called to rise up against those leaders in revolt, to Whom does vengeance belong? Don’t you know that Christ will lead us out of captivity, much like Moses led Israel out of captivity? Now… Did Moses give Israel a Law from GOD as a covenant between them and GOD? Did Jesus give us instruction? Did Christ Jesus not say that if we love Him that we will obey His instruction? That we will love one another as ourselves, even as He has loved us, laying His life down for us. Did He not say to love our enemies? Did He not teach us by prayer to ask for the forgiveness of our transgression as we forgive those that transgressed against us? Is it not the meek that He promised that they will inherit the earth?

We should carry one another’s burdens, bear one another’s infirmities. What should we not do with the freedom we have in Christ? (see verse 16 above.)

Friends, we are in the series, the Gospel of Jesus Christ. What we read here is not unattached from Matthew 5. What we read here is not unattached to the letters of Apostles to the church. With this, we should consider that which was written to the Romans, to the Hebrews, to the Galatians and Ephesians. To us the letter to Timothy was left too, as it is with that which was written to the Thessalonians. The Book of Acts must not be forgotten, and the guidance of Jude and James not neglected. For these, all of them are testimonies of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I may as well have named this series, The New Testament established by the Blood of Jesus Christ. Are we not called to become new creatures in Christ? That means, leaving the old man behind, the man of offence and the body of sin and death. Now, we do not stand in defense of self any longer, we do not go to war to gain territory and riches, but we seek the Kingdom of GOD first, and His righteousness, and Trust in GOD that what we need shall be added unto us by the measure of GOD Himself. Sure, the meek person may not be promoted by this world to senior positions, so that we do not rule over mankind and make ourselves guilty of oppressing others. Sure, we may not receive great riches here, so we do not cause anyone to look at us and covet what we have. We are called to be humble and meek, not the head but the foot. We are not called to be served, but to be servants of the Most High GOD, our Father in Heaven, His will be done. We are called to stand in that which this world calls foolish. I know, there are many that, upon hearing this, might take offence. Jesus Christ is our portion, and when He comes to reign, He will give unto each according to His works. “Good and faithful servant,” those are the words I want to hear from Him. You cannot rule before you have first been a servant, is a ruler then not the servant of those he rules over?

To many of you, life might seem void of purpose, we are just waiting for Jesus Christ’s return, right? No! We are trained for that which is to come, this is our day of preparation. And has Jesus Christ not come to us by the Holy Spirit? If we cannot obey here and now, why would Christ give us rule over others in His Kingdom to come? If we cannot show good judgment, mercy and grace, then what part have we in Him? If we cannot learn compassion, if we cannot take pity on another, why would Christ entrust even a household to us, not to speak of cities and provinces of the Kingdom of GOD. Did Jesus not inform us that we will rule and reign with Him? Well, this life, it is the school of that which is to come. Shall we then rule as man rule now? Have we not stood witness to the depravities of mankind here? Did we not witness oppression and greed, shall there be such a thing in the Kingdom of GOD? Joint-heirs with Christ, what did you think it meant? So, for those that look towards Heaven as some form of retirement, don’t you know by the Spirit that you are misinformed? If then a people join together in the Holy Spirit of GOD, in Jesus Christ, then the Ruachim, “the Spirit Filled Ones,” the children of GOD Most High, the Creator and the Ruler of all Creation. Are we not in the womb, awaiting to be delivered, and are we not witnessing the contractions of travail already, just as Jesus Christ foretold. Did He not say, He went to prepare a place for us, that His Father’s House has many Mansions? Did He not say that GOD is a Spirit? Is it not written that we must be Holy, for GOD is HOLY. Is it not written that GOD is Love? Did Paul not write that Love is the Greatest of all?

You see, if you don’t know what you are enduring here for, you might run out of steam. You might give up, you might seek to save the life of flesh. You are not called to the flesh, but to the Spirit of GOD. When dust returns to dust, the breath of GOD in us will return back to the Source of it. Yes, that which made man a living soul (Genesis 2:7) Maybe now you will understand, why the child of GOD does not fear death as it is known by man on earth, for he has found the Truth in Jesus Christ. That we will be resurrected to life eternal, with God and His Son, and all the Saints with Him. So, we do not love our lives unto death, nor do we hold back from passing over to that which is to come, for it is Home.

I have typed out all of this here today, so that those who do not listen to the audio note would not be robbed from the promise we have in Jesus Christ. Life everlasting, by the declaration of GOD The Father Himself in John 3:16; that is what awaits us at our redemption, when that which is GOD’S is returned to Him.

Hallelujah, now let all iniquity be purged from us, that we may be redeemed by GOD.

Selah, Shalom

1 Peter 1:1-25 KJV

[1] Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, [2] elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. [3] Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, [4] to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, [5] who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. [6] Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: [7] that the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: [8] whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: [9] receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. [10] Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: [11] searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. [12] Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into. [13] Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; [14] as obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: [15] but as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; [16] because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. [17] And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear: [18] forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; [19] but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: [20] who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, [21] who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. [22] Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: [23] being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. [24] For All flesh is as grass, And all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: [25] But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

https://bible.com/bible/1/1pe.1.1-25.KJV

Note for 20250205

This morning, I will bring part of the testimony of Paul first, that you may have another witness.

Romans 8:1-13 KJV

[1]  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. [2] For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. [3] For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: [4] that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. [5] For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. [6] For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. [7] Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. [8] So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. [9] But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. [10] And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. [11] But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. [12] Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. [13] For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

https://bible.com/bible/1/rom.8.1-13.KJV

Of course, it would be better to read all of Romans 8, but for the sake of time, we will just highlight this. At this, enough is said for today, and I have but joined the scriptures. I say I, because I brought it to you like this, but it is the same Spirit that you read of here, that brought it together for me to give to you. So in that, I have no honor or glory, for it is not I that did it. Like with the increase of Bread, it is Christ that breaks the bread, and His disciples delivered the bread to the people. I am just a steward of that which comes from GOD, by the Holy Spirit, in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Today is solid meat that the church of Christ should be able to eat at this time. For who then is there now no more condemnation? Not by what I say, but by what you have read here in the scriptures for yourself today?

Might I suggest that you read these two scriptures again? That you consider them. To my friends on YouVersion, I invite you to “attend” the voice note that will go out, on this coming Friday, the 7th of February, 2025; if GOD keeps me until then. The same invitation goes out to all who usually read, come join us in the spoken Word, on the day of preparation. The recording will be uploaded to the following YouTube Channel: https://youtube.com/@houseoflechem

Friends, it is in my heart that the Word of GOD may be enough for you. That you may be sustained by what GOD has given. But, I do understand that for some there is a need for ushers to bring the Word to them, and for that I am a willing servant for the Will of GOD. I am just a servant, an usher. The Word of GOD comes by the Spirit of GOD, written by the Spirit, to be received by the Spirit dwelling in us. Be then holy, for GOD is HOLY.

As I said on the 5th, here is the verse of the day From the YouVersion Bible App for 20250205 (expanded from verse 16) again.

Galatians 5:16-26 KJV

[16]  This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. [17] For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. [18] But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. [19] Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, [20] idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, [21] envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. [22] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, [23] meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. [24] And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. [25] If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. [26] Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

In Addition

I have added even a little more here than what was read in the voice note.

Malachi 4:1-6 KJV

[1] For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. [2] But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. [3] And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.  [4] Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments. [5] Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: [6] and he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

Mark 16:1-20 KJV

[1] And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him. [2] And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun. [3] And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre? [4] And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great. [5] And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted. [6] And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him. [7] But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you. [8] And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulchre; for they trembled and were amazed: neither said they any thing to any man; for they were afraid. [9] Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. [10] And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept. [11] And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not. [12] After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country. [13] And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them. [14] Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. [15] And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. [16] He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. [17] And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; [18] they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. [19] So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. [20] And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

Note for 20250204

Surely you have heard of the days after Jesus Christ has risen from the grave. I know, this account feels somewhat rushed and brief, but what we have here does broadly outline what we have in other accounts. Mark, however, does give us the mission of the Christian, to preach the Gospel to every creature, and that whosoever believes, the same shall be saved.

Please note what type of confirmations came for those who believe that the Lord worked with them and that signs followed them. In the Name of Jesus, they would cast out devils, speak in new tongues and heal those they lay their hands on. They would be protected against serpents and poisons.

This concludes our reading of the account of Mark, and next we will read the letters of Peter, who was most often with Christ and to Whom Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.” It is my Great Hope that from our reading and contemplation on the account of Mark, that your faith has been strengthened in the Lord Jesus Christ, especially that you believe that what He has done, he did for you too. That you may agree with the words of Christ, that you make His words your own and believe that He is risen and at the right hand of GOD the Father on His Throne. That you believe His Words and shape your life according to His instruction. The old man must be laid down with Christ, and yes, you should be baptised, you should partake in Holy Communion and you must permit the Living Christ to wash you clean from sin. The Lord is with us, by His Holy Spirit, just as we learned from the account of John.

To each a measure of faith is given, and in Christ, that faith may grow, as the Lord works with us, when we perform those duties He gave us to do. Then shall the signs follow us, to confirm us. Remember the prayer Jesus taught us, and that according to Revelation 19:10 the testimony of Jesus Christ is the Spirit of Prophecy.

It is not given to all to write or make big speeches before many, but each of us preach a message by how we live. What we preach is only true when it conforms with the Truth of Jesus Christ. If you had to write your testimony, what would the declaration of your faith look like? While it might not be required of you to write it down, you should live according to your faith. Know this too, if there is any error in you still, the Lord will correct you. By The Holy Spirit will you be reminded of what Christ said, just as He said He would. Christ said, that He will never leave nor forsake you, which means, as we read here, that the Lord will work with you. Shall He work with you if your efforts are for your own kingdom instead of His? Shall He bring signs if hate remains in you? The answer is in you, I do not have to write it here.

What is your testimony of Jesus, you have just read Mark’s? And now, I will ask you an alike question, though it is different; what is the testimony of Jesus in you? You see, the one is yours and the other is His, take His Testimony to every creature that you meet. Your testimony can edify your brothers and sisters in the Faith, but His Testimony will save them. Take the Gospel of Jesus Christ out into the world, so that hearing they might believe in Him that is alive, and He will save them for their faith in Him.

Additional Scriptures

Deuteronomy 30:1-3 KJV

[1] And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath driven thee, [2] and shalt return unto the LORD thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul; [3] that then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee.

Deuteronomy 30:4-10 KJV

[4] If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the LORD thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee: [5] and the LORD thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers. [6] And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live. [7] And the LORD thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee. [8] And thou shalt return and obey the voice of the LORD, and do all his commandments which I command thee this day. [9] And the LORD thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the LORD will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers: [10] if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if thou turn unto the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.

Deuteronomy 30:11-14 KJV

[11] For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off. [12] It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it? [13] Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it? [14] But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.

Deuteronomy 30:15-20 KJV

[15] See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil; [16] in that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it. [17] But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them; [18] I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it. [19] I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: [20] that thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

Deuteronomy 31:29 KJV

[29] For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.

Mark 15:1-47 KJV

[1] And straightway in the morning the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus, and carried him away, and delivered him to Pilate. [2] And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering said unto him, Thou sayest it . [3] And the chief priests accused him of many things: but he answered nothing. [4] And Pilate asked him again, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they witness against thee. [5] But Jesus yet answered nothing; so that Pilate marvelled. [6] Now at that feast he released unto them one prisoner, whomsoever they desired. [7] And there was one named Barabbas, which lay bound with them that had made insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection. [8] And the multitude crying aloud began to desire him to do as he had ever done unto them. [9] But Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews? [10] For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy. [11] But the chief priests moved the people, that he should rather release Barabbas unto them. [12] And Pilate answered and said again unto them, What will ye then that I shall do unto him whom ye call the King of the Jews? [13] And they cried out again, Crucify him. [14] Then Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil hath he done? And they cried out the more exceedingly, Crucify him. [15] And so Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified. [16] And the soldiers led him away into the hall, called Prætorium; and they call together the whole band. [17] And they clothed him with purple, and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about his head, [18] and began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews! [19] And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing their knees worshipped him. [20] And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him. [21] And they compel one Simon a Cyrenian, who passed by, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his cross. [22] And they bring him unto the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, The place of a skull. [23] And they gave him to drink wine mingled with myrrh: but he received it not. [24] And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take. [25] And it was the third hour, and they crucified him. [26] And the superscription of his accusation was written over, THE KING OF THE JEWS. [27] And with him they crucify two thieves; the one on his right hand, and the other on his left. [28] And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors. [29] And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, [30] save thyself, and come down from the cross. [31] Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save. [32] Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him. [33] And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. [34] And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? [35] And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calleth Elias. [36] And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down. [37] And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost. [38] And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom. [39] And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God. [40] There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome; [41] (who also, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and ministered unto him;) and many other women which came up with him unto Jerusalem. [42] And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath, [43] Joseph of Arimathæa, an honourable counsellor, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus. [44] And Pilate marvelled if he were already dead: and calling unto him the centurion, he asked him whether he had been any while dead. [45] And when he knew it of the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph. [46] And he bought fine linen, and took him down, and wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a sepulchre which was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone unto the door of the sepulchre. [47] And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses beheld where he was laid.

Note for 20250203

Who of you, like me, feels that this account is not quite in full? How many times have we heard the account of the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ, and yet this time, here out of Mark, we are left wanting for the certain things he did not write. These are things that we know from within, the truth in us is crying out. Did we not feel the same, when Mark did not write of Peter walking to Christ upon the sea? But, in a way, there is some comfort, because it also means that Mark did not write on what he did not have. Yet, does it feel like something was taken from us, because it wasn’t written here in this account. In another way, it is great, because that means that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is in our heart. We carry it with us. I would rather feel like this, than not to have noticed at all.

So, while it is not written here, we know that Jesus received 40 lashes with a whip, ordered by Pilate, before they placed the robe and the crown of thorns upon Him. We know that Pilate washed his hands in the witness of those that brought accusation against Him, who demanded that Christ be crucified. But this we do have here…

Mark 15:11 KJV

[11] But the chief priests moved the people, that he should rather release Barabbas unto them.

https://bible.com/bible/1/mrk.15.11.KJV

Yes, we know that the people cried for the release of a murderer, rather than Jesus Christ who was innocent on all counts. And we know who it was that spurred on the people to make such a request. Are we surprised that those that sought to murder Christ would shout for the freedom of a murderer? What do we learn here about the fruit of men, can they be known by it?

For the lack of what we want to hear, that which we know to be the truth from within; we feel robbed of the truth, like someone stole that which is important. And yet, this is all the Truth that Mark had in him. He did not write of the sinner on the cross, to whom Jesus said, “Today you will be with me in paradise.”

It is also at this time that we should then be grateful for the testimony of others, like Matthew, Luke and John. As we should be for the account of Mark, for he did tell us of Simon who carried the cross of Christ. And some might remember, how it is written in the law that a man will not be condemned to death by the witness of just one. In the mouth of 2 or more witnesses the truth had to be established, which means that we should not read just the book of Mark, but hear all the witnesses of Jesus Christ. What about our testimony of Jesus Christ? What has he done for us? Should that not be shared too? If it is Christ that helped us, we cannot take glory unto ourselves. So can I not glory that it is I that overcame my alcoholism, but must testify that I was delivered of it. I know, because while I tried, I failed. My victory came in Jesus Christ. The rage and hate that was in me, that too is gone because of Jesus Christ. Just as it is because of Jesus Christ that I am saved, and my sin is no longer accounted to me. He paid the price of sin for me. If we claim that it was us, then we steal His glory. Yet, we know, all of us that have been delivered, that it came by obedience to the Word of GOD too. Else, we would have stepped back into the sinful nature that we came from.

So, we live amongst thieves. These are those who claim fame for things that came by the grace of GOD alone. A man will be known by the fruit of mouth and deeds of his hands, and salvation comes by Christ alone.

Verse of The Day

From the YouVersion Bible App for 20250205 (expanded from verse 16)
