This morning, we start with the verse of the day once more. This is such a comforting verse for believers. I say believers, but really, I should say followers. You see, this verse implies first an active following of that way which the Lord prepares. Second there is the fearlessness in faith and trust. Thirdly, there is the matter of enduring unto the end without dismay. Such a powerful verse, here as Moses addresses Joshua.
2. Scripture Text
Deuteronomy 31:8 KJV
[8] And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.
This however is preceded by another verse which really should be seen with it.
Deuteronomy 31:7 KJV
[7] And Moses called unto Joshua, and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou must go with this people unto the land which the LORD hath sworn unto their fathers to give them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit it.
You see how important a little context can be? It is not my intention to retell you the entire account of Joshua, it is in the Bible, you can read it. What is important to know is that Joshua, son of Nun, was one of the spies that returned with a good report regarding Canaan that they went out to see. The other of course, Caleb. So, Joshua was tested at this point already, and Moses is “handing over” Joshua, because Moses was prevented by the Lord from entering into the promised land, both him and Aaron, which have passed on at this point already, for their transgression before the LORD. They did not follow His instruction in the matter of the rock and water.
We see in this verse that Joshua would lead the people into the promised land and “cause them to inherit it.” Active involvement in the matter, even at the front end of it, the effort of conquering the promised land, following the Lord.
My reading plan also presented a similar pattern, this morning. Yes, in Isaiah, in a prophecy concerning the Messiah.
Isaiah 52:7-12 KJV
[7] How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! [8] Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion. [9] Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the LORD hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem. [10] The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God. [11] Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD. [12] For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the LORD will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your rereward.
Are we not called to follow the Lord too, my friends? To walk in His way? The Lord goes ahead, and the believer follows. Part of that way is a holy consecration. In other words, there is a requirement of being set apart from this world, which this scripture from Isaiah also precisely states. “…be ye clean…” (“Be Holy, for I am Holy”)
Today, to the larger part, people do not follow the Lord any more, no! They all walk as lost lambs, expecting the Lord to leave the ninety-nine behind to find them where they are. It is almost as if they want the Lord to go ahead of them in their ways and not that they will follow the Lord in His way.
Case in point: This morning I received a message from a Pastor, yes a shepherd of a flock, who sent me some “quotes of wisdom” signed off with the name, Buddha at 1:57am. Do you think I will read any of his messages after that? You see, that is not the Way of our Lord, no matter how innocent or wise man may judge those words to be. “Define your own life, don’t let other people to,” a verbatim quote from the message. The Lord defines our lives, friends. Now, I will be taking this on in private conversation, as per the guidance of the Word of GOD, but I need to warn you, that not everyone who wears a collar knows the Way of the Lord. “…try the spirits if they be of GOD…” (1 John 4:1 according to memory) and this is not of GOD, because it speaks in the name of a false god.
We must actively follow Jesus Christ in His Way, not just some way. It is not “good people” that are saved, but “believers” (followers of Christ who obey the instructions of GOD.) There is a “Way,” friends.
4. Closing Paragraph
Don’t bring into yourself something just based on a carnal evaluation of words that are like honey for the ears. Soothsayers, speaking what people want to hear is like the blind leading the blind. Follow Jesus Christ.

As I kept the watch, even as I was called early this morning, the Spirit of my Lord called unto me, He said, “get you up, and come to Me?” So, I arose as if I had slept enough. As if, I have slept a full night. I said, “here I am, Lord. Speak, Your servant listens.” He brought me to this verse, which was the verse of the day, as if it was written to me alone.
2. Scripture Text
Once again, we get the lead for today’s devotional note from the YouVersion Bible App’s Verse of the Day.
Isaiah 26:4 KJV
[4] Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
I said to the Lord, “I have read it,” and He sent me to where I must read next. He showed me the lines, He brought them to my attention, and laid them out in an order. Then the Lord brought me back to this verse and said, “read more,” as He gave me this in highlight:
Isaiah 26:3-7 KJV
[3] Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. [4] Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength: [5] for he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust. [6] The foot shall tread it down, even the feet of the poor, and the steps of the needy. [7] The way of the just is uprightness: thou, most upright, dost weigh the path of the just.
Weigh the path of the just? “How did I call you, Mattit’Yahu?” (That is the name the Lord speaks to me, when He calls me, even now as He gives me these words.) I answer, “Lord, You called me early in the morning, by Mispah first, and since then, as it pleases You, my Lord.” The Lord says, “Watch Tower.“
Who am I that Thou should regard me, my Lord, that Thou call me, a man, as one would call a friend? You call me at the bark of a dog, then, Lord, You say to me, “get yourself up and come to Me,” You give me Words before I can understand them. You lay them out, by scripture, and knit them all together. The Lord says, “Go, to the first verses that I gave you now, but write this first:” I cannot remember what the first verses was that the Lord gave me, but I did set them aside as I was guided. (In myself, I wonder, what is the Lord doing?) He says, “Show them how I speak to you.” (By the guidance of the Holy Spirit, here I am writing things, some of what I know, and some I have not heard until now. A new writing style, to try and weave sense into the Spiritual, that the “wise” of this world will surely mock.) Now the verses, as the Lord requested:
Isaiah 50:1-3 KJV
[1] Thus saith the LORD, Where is the bill of your mother’s divorcement, whom I have put away? or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities have ye sold yourselves, and for your transgressions is your mother put away. [2] Wherefore, when I came, was there no man? when I called, was there none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have I no power to deliver? behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stinketh, because there is no water, and dieth for thirst. [3] I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering.
[10] Who is among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon his God.
Who “stays upon his God,” Father? How does he “stay upon his God?” (These questions I write as instructed) “They that fear Me, who trust upon the Name of the Lord, even the Name that has been given to trust in, of whom I said, hear Him, to Moses and Elijah.” (I perceive that the Lord is speaking of, on the mount of the transfiguration of Jesus Christ, even as He said it then.)
The Lord said, “This is My Son, in Whom I am well pleased. I speak to Him, even as He dwells in you.“
Now I am to give you the next section of verses the Lord gave me to set aside.
Isaiah 50:4-5 KJV
[4] The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned. [5] The Lord GOD hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back.
(In me, I feel unworthy to do what I am doing at this moment. I am just an ordinary man, un-learnered, what I have is of the Lord. The Lord said, I must show you. And I am feeling uncomfortable, because it is not of me, but in obedience I write here, I would prefer not to, though, not my will, but His. I shall not be ashamed of the Lord.)
Isaiah 51:5-8 KJV
[5] My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth, and mine arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait upon me, and on mine arm shall they trust. [6] Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished. [7] Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings. [8] For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool: but my righteousness shall be for ever, and my salvation from generation to generation.
Friends, the LORD redeemed us back unto Himself, by Jesus Christ. The LORD has poured out of His Spirit, in us, in the Name of Jesus Christ, Whom we know as the Comforter Jesus promised that the Father would send, as Jesus prayed Him to send.
Now this, and it is a question in me, I confess: “shall this that the LORD gave me, by the Words that Isaiah wrote, come to be in this time?” (And I need you to know friends, the Lord is aware of this conversation, not just here between me and the Spirit of GOD, but also, the conversation that is taking place with you, when these words find you. And yes, these things are made known to me, as the Lord has need for me to know, some accepting, some being critical. Yes, even if the one that said, “he thinks he is a prophet.” I am just a servant, an imperfect man.) “That woke up and rose from his bed when I called him after just two and a half hours of sleep, at 02:30am” says the Lord.
Friends, I have a question for you. Me, personally; did you hear what the Lord gave in the last quote of scripture? Not by my words, but by the Words of Isaiah, that the Lord brought me to at an early hour?
(I am so hot now, at 4:08am, I had to take off my jacket. I write this here so it is available for you to know my experience, as the Lord called me to do.)
There is a judgment coming. Yes, even as it is written in Isaiah. I do not know where, it might be a city, it might be a country, but it is surely coming. It is as if I know it.
Father, if it is Your will, speak, I am listening.
Isaiah 51:14-16 KJV
[14] The captive exile hasteneth that he may be loosed, and that he should not die in the pit, nor that his bread should fail. [15] But I am the LORD thy God, that divided the sea, whose waves roared: The LORD of hosts is his name. [16] And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou art my people.
(The Lord just gave me more, which I will share with you now, after this here. I was also sent to collect my anointing oil. Thus is the way, my forehead anointed, my right ear, my temples, my right thumb; in that order. For those that know, yes, my right toe was not anointed, for I am not sent out yet, but to proclaim all I receive from where I am, standing in the duty that the Lord has called me to.)
From the verse of the day’s chapter:
Isaiah 26:4-14 KJV
[4] Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength: [5] for he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust. [6] The foot shall tread it down, even the feet of the poor, and the steps of the needy. [7] The way of the just is uprightness: thou, most upright, dost weigh the path of the just. [8] Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee. [9] With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. [10] Let favour be shewed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the LORD. [11] LORD, when thy hand is lifted up, they will not see: but they shall see, and be ashamed for their envy at the people; yea, the fire of thine enemies shall devour them. [12] LORD, thou wilt ordain peace for us: for thou also hast wrought all our works in us. [13] O LORD our God, other lords beside thee have had dominion over us: but by thee only will we make mention of thy name. [14] They are dead, they shall not live; they are deceased, they shall not rise: therefore hast thou visited and destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish.
Now, friends, this morning is definitely more intense than what I have received in a while. Twice now the Lord has instructed me to anoint myself with oil in one week. (For those that may ask, the anointing oil was a gift, and it comes all the way from Israel.)
Now, for your (and my) comfort, the Lord also gave me this to include here:
Psalm 23:1-6 KJV
[1] The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. [2] He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. [3] He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. [4] Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. [5] Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. [6] Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: And I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
Verse was the basis of the Devotional, so it and its expansions are given above.

6. Closing Paragraph
This is a significant morning and so is the message. Wait on the Lord, I say; wait on the LORD. For those who have an ear to hear, let them hear what the Spirit is saying unto the angels of the churches.
(4:30am, and now I am going to lay before the Lord. Maybe, He will show me kindness, give me Word, or let me rest.)
Selah, Shalom.

Good morning, friends and welcome to the breakfast quiet time with mom. It is approximately 6 minutes to 10 in the morning. Mom has completed breakfast already and today is Sunday the 24th of August 2025. Let me give you the title for today. The title for today is Scattered and Gathered. Today is complex friends and at the moment I am still not quite sure how this is going to roll out to you. I want us to open up in prayer because so much of the introduction to this is in the note already and I need guidance on how to proceed from here. Let us close our eyes in prayers.
Prayer
Our Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, and Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven. Give us day by day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, Father please, as we forgive those that trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever and ever. And Father, I pray more specifically today, and more intensely than before, that You will place a guard at my mouth. That You will anoint my lips and my tongue so that I can bring the Word as it is purposed for this day. Lord, I pray that You will reveal to each according to Your will, Your pleasure, Your purpose to each of us as it pertains to us. Revealed to us in knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. Father, I pray for a hedge of protection roundabout. I pray for the blood of Christ to cover us from above, to envelop us. Father, even as the Passover blood at the posts of the house. Lord, You revealed so much to me and I’m so grateful for that and so often I am frustrated by time for it is in my heart that these that You have sent me to Father that they may receive and have the certainty that You have installed in me. Father, I’m just a man. So much of today is so vital to understand. And yet, in Your merciful kindness, You’ve made it possible for us to be saved by mere faith. Just believing, just stepping into obedience. After the act of repentance, You renew us from within. You bring us on a path we didn’t even intend to walk. So, Thy will be done. Give as it pleases You to give, according to your measure, Father. This, we pray, in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Amen.
(We are to receive the Word of GOD by the Spirit, so I strongly urge you to pray before you receive the Devotional. Let Christ take the lead in your Spiritual Development.)
As you can tell, I’m a little bit overwhelmed. I do not know how to share everything with you, friends. This morning was interesting and I would be stealing from you if I do not introduce this correctly. So, we’re going to go to the note first and somewhere in the note, we’ll jump over to the text and I’m trusting that the Lord will show me where. The title for today is Scattered and Gathered.
As I sat down this morning, I was led to the verse of the day expecting, and I’m not going to give it to you just, quite, yet. For those of you that have read it already, you have a blessing due to your obedience. I was led to the verse of the day expecting to write on that as it has been the case for a couple of days. So, I read but did not get the confirmation to write on that. I was backed out, without as much as a mark on the verse of the day.
Then I was led to this chapter in Isaiah, next in the reading of the Bible plan, “As it happened.” So, I need you to understand, this was just the next chapter for me to read. I was hesitant with this direction, because it is not common for me to go and read from that Bible reading plan for the morning devotional, unless the Lord leads to me, after the scripture that is already given. So I was hesitant. So, I waited for confirmation which came and I marked up the chapter first just to highlight it. Really, friends, I was just going to copy it if I had to insert it in the writing, but then, I was guided to write the note on this today. Now, I just want to make it clear, at this point, I could see a relation to the verse of the day. But I still did not have the message. So, I waited on the Lord. I was then guided from there on. And at this point I’m going to read to you Isaiah 49:1-26.
2. Scripture Text
The scripture format is slightly different today, because in recording, I often explain in between or give reminders to the audience. My words can be seen in (parentheses) even when I re-read a section.
Isaiah 49:1-26 (KJV)
Listen, O Isles (this is the Isles of the sea. The nations.) unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The Lord hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.
And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me;
And said unto me, Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.
Then I said, I have laboured in vain, I have spent my strength for nought, and in vain: yet surely my judgment is with the Lord, and my work with my God.
And now, saith the Lord that formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, Though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the Lord, and my God shall be my strength.
And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.
Thus saith the Lord, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to a servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the Lord that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and he shall choose thee.
Thus saith the Lord, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;
That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places.
They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them.
And I will make all my mountains a way, and my highways shall be exalted.
Behold, these shall come from far: and, lo, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.
Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the Lord hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted. (Now pay attention to verse 14.)
But Zion said, The Lord hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me.
Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. (And I want to bring attention to that again. “Can a woman forget her sucking child that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.”)
Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.
Thy children shall make haste; thy destroyers and they that made thee waste shall go forth of thee.
Lift up thine eyes round about, and behold: all these gather themselves together, and come to thee. As I live, saith the Lord, thou shalt surely clothe thee with them all, as with an ornament, and bind them on thee, as a bride doeth.
For thy waste and thy desolate places, and the land of thy destruction, shall even now be too narrow by reason of the inhabitants, and they that swallowed thee up shall be far away.
The children which thou shalt have, after thou hast lost the other, shall say again in thine ears, The place is too strait for me: give place to me that I may dwell.
Then shalt thou say in thine heart, Who hath begotten me these, seeing I have lost my children, and am desolate, a captive, and removing to and fro? and who hath brought up these? Behold, I was left alone; these, where had they been? (I want to read that again. “Then shalt thou say in thine heart, who hath begotten me these? Seeing I have lost my children, and I am desolate, a captive, and removing to and fro, and who hath brought up these? Behold, I was left alone. These, where had they been?”)
Thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I will lift up mine hand to the Gentiles, (Please note this, friends.) and set up my standard to the people: and they shall bring thy sons in their arms, and thy daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders.
And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am the Lord: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me. (I want to read that again. “For they shall not be ashamed that wait for me.”)
Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered?
But thus saith the Lord, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.
And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the Lord am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob. (Remember this. “And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh, and they shall be drunken with their own blood, and with sweet wine. And all flesh shall know that I the Lord am thy savior and thy redeemer, the mighty one of Jacob.” Remember Jacob.)
Now, I must make it clear at this point. I could see a relation to the verse of the day, but I still did not have the message. So I waited on the Lord. I was then guided to these verses: Jeremiah 31:10-11.
Jeremiah 31:10-11 (KJV)
10. Hear the word of the Lord, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock. (Do you see that?) 11. For the Lord hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he.
There is an interjection that I must put here friends that you should know. In truth I received more but this was brought to highlight. So for the prudent, a reading of all of Jeremiah 31 will be to the advantage of understanding. Carrying on. Then the Lord gave me the title Scattered and Gathered and the direction was punched in.
3. Devotional Reflection
Every now and then we read something in the word and it challenges the student of the word.
Case in point, Matthew 15:24, “But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” And what about this one? John 7:34-35, “Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come. Then said the Jews among themselves, (listen very carefully to what the Jews say here.) Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?” No, there’s something there.
The Jews knew something, friends, to be able to ask that question. At least they had to know Isaiah 49 and Jeremiah 31. Now, many look at the dispersed of the Jews as we ourselves have seen by how far into Gentile territories the apostles found synagogues. But once more, man suffers from a parallax error. Counter to common knowledge, the Jews do not resemble all of the children of Jacob, merely one tribe, friends, which is Judah.
To validate this with scripture, we’ll take an exhaustive amount of reference and we’ll take us right through the records of kings and chronicles of the kings prophetic texts. We will have to learn again about the division of the house of Jacob after the sin of King Solomon. See the exile in 2 Kings 17. All of this to make sense of Jeremiah 31 and Isaiah 49. Not even to speak of those that call themselves Jews but are not. We would have to read from the sons of Solomon to Revelation to see God’s plan which Christ declared and the prophets prophesied. Yes, even of Ezekiel 37‘s valley of dry bones. And as Ezekiel is instructed to prophesy over these dry bones, we would have to understand Revelation 19:10 in particular, how the testimony of Jesus Christ is the Spirit of prophecy. Even of dry bones becoming alive again. Yes! Even to understand that it is true about the Old Testament prophecy too, that the testimony of the Messiah, Jesus Christ, is the Spirit of prophecy.
Here in Isaiah 49 and Jeremiah 31, we see the evidence of the scattered people, both of the house of Judah and the house of Israel, which make up the house of Jacob: all 12 tribes, just as in the case of Ezekiel 37. All of this, to understand an ancient text of the seed of the woman in Genesis 3:15. The world looks at one tribe of the children of Jacob and calls them from that, which is a parallax error. The Jews are just one tribe, also known in the Hebrew tongue as – Yehudim (יְהוּדִים) – (Plural form, meaning “Judeans” or “Jews.) And, admittedly, I must also include some of Levi as we learn that John the Baptist’s mother Elizabeth, Mary’s cousin, are from the daughters of Aaron. And shall we speak of the fact that John the Baptist’s father was a priest? Who alone was permitted to become priests? Is it not out of the line of Aaron?
And did those that followed the God of Jacob join themselves to the house of Judah? (Jews.) Now, we’re talking about the separation that took place with Rehoboam and Jeroboam. Friends, and I’m interjecting here, where those in the Northern Territories that saw these golden calves being raised in Dan and in Bethel, (essentially) they said, “We don’t want anything to do with this. We’re going to join ourselves to the house of Judah. We’re going to go down. We’re going to join them. We are giving up our inheritances in Mount Ephraim into the territories of Samaria.” (Please note this is said in a form of roleplay.) Yes! All of those territories, even those from Benjamin, Reuben, Gad that was on the other side, not Benjamin, sorry, half of Manasseh, that was on the other side of the Sea of Galilee, on the other side of the Jordan, even of these that was joined to the northern tribes of what then became Israel. And that is where the confusion comes in because the greater part was kept as Israel, the house of Israel. And the house of Judah was separated unto God for the promise that God made to King David that he will always have a descendant on the throne. The Levites pulled back. They went to Judah because they remained, not all of them. But they remained loyal to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Many of those in those tribes said, “We disinherit our tribes. We disinherit our land and we are going to join us to Judah which is remaining with the Lord at the house of the Lord there on the threshing floor where the temple of God was established that His name was in it.” That division is of these that joined themselves to the house of Judah or as we know them today, Jews. And soon the words of Christ to the Canaanite woman gets more relevant.
Matthew 15:26: “But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.”
Now, would you believe me if I tell you that this is just the introduction to the scripture “highlight” today, friends, because Isaiah 49 is about Jesus and God’s plan to save the remnant of the house of Jacob. Jacob, all 12 tribes.
Indeed, we should quote Hosea 4:6 here again, for you will see it there, too. “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.” Who then is it that scattered the children of Jacob? How does the following read? Now listen to it. Jeremiah 31:10-11 again. “Hear the word of the Lord, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock. For the Lord hath redeemed Jacob and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than him.” You’ve got to see the cross, friends. The children of Jacob have departed from God’s ways, friends, forgotten and scattered upon the hills and the mountains, or as it’s known in prophetic speech, the nations and the people of the world. And in Jesus Christ, is the flock brought back together, for His sheep know his voice.
With Jeremiah, I weep. With Hosea, I declare the children, the seed of the woman, are suffering from a multi-generational amnesia. But his sheep know his voice and submit, once more, to the authority of their Father in heaven. As lost sons returning home in repentance, by the sacrifice of His only begotten Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, or as it is in the parable of the lost son, the Fattened Calf (Sacrifice for the lost.)
Now friends, this is a mystery for it does not follow mere genealogy, though somewhat, not complete; just as we find Cain and Abel and Jacob and Esau. So do we still find siblings till this day. And, you know, for you that come to listen to the audio note here I want to give you more than what is just written in the note. I want to give you more. (And today, I have included for those who read too) Because, Cain and Abel were not the same. One accepted, the other not. And Jacob and Esau were not the same. Even though they were in the same womb, twins. God loved Jacob and hated Esau. Esau being so hairy that Jacob had to put the skin of a goat on his neck and on his upper hands on his forearms so that Isaac would think it’s Esau. How much hair is that, friends? They were not the same. So do we still find siblings till this day, diverse? Diverse, in one household, not of the same spiritual seed. That is still true today. And with the bit of biology that I had, if you understand genealogy, you can understand how you can get two very different children from a pairing where the mother and the father are not the same – Mingling, but even more so, in the spiritual DNA.
The house of Jacob, all 12 tribes, woven into the tapestry of nations like tares (To clarify, the nations are the tares.) The seed of the serpent was sewn in amongst the wheat, even in the womb where Jacob and Esau found themselves. The seed of the serpent was sown amongst the wheat, the seed of man. The field, as the hearts of man; and the good seed – the word of God; the bad seed – the lies, deception, and rebellion against the throne of God. Now, I’m not able to distinguish between the tares and the wheat. I cannot. The goats and the sheep, I don’t know and maybe that is why Christ said that the angels of God will bring in the harvest. First the tares will be removed and cast into the fire, but the remaining will be separated and chaff from wheat. All I have is what Christ gave that we will know them by their fruit.
But I have noticed how some sheep think that they are goats, and were deceived. As I said before, a goat cannot be a sheep. Neither can a sheep be a goat. But you can make a sheep think he is a goat by keeping him with goats. And I want to give you, to the diligent: I’m going to give you 2 Kings 17. Mark it. Go read it. Go and see what happens there, what happens to those northern tribes, the house of Israel. In fact, if you read 2 Kings 18, you’ll see how God protects Judah against Sennacherib, the king of Assyria, even smiting 185,000 of his army in one night. But the same did not happen for the house of Israel. Those northern tribes were taken away, supplanted into other territories, and others were brought in and established there in the territories of northern Israel. And believe it or not, today is not about all this history. Not alone, in any way. Neither does Isaiah stand in isolation, but is followed up by the New Testament. And of Jeremiah, he makes clear by the word of God that the scattering was of the Lord for the disobedience of the house of Jacob, with Jeremiah more specifically involved in Judah, as he was a counselor to King Zedekiah.
No, today is more about the verse of the day, friends. The scattering of the house of Jacob can further be understood by Paul’s description of the wild and the cultivated olive tree being grafted together in Romans 11:16-24. One wild, one cultivated, but both olive trees. Typically the church is referred to as and compared to the vine and Judah as the fig tree. Also Jeremiah’s dream of the two baskets of figs fruit in Jeremiah 24. But the olive tree has always resembled the house of Jacob, all 12 tribes. Now all this will help to understand Isaiah 49 better. And quickly we can see the prophesied Messiah in the text. Modern scholars will have you believe something quite different.
The serpent seed is a seed of rebellion against the throne of God. Friends, they knew not the father. Neither will they accept Christ or repent. It is not in them. And their fruit declares it. It identifies them. But, we are not called to separate the tares from the wheat lest we uproot the wheat and so we must trust in God’s process.
You see, at the time when our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ walks upon the earth in his ministry. That would have been from around 27 in the common era to 30CE, because that count actually starts when Christ is 3 years old and he died on the cross at the age of 33 and we’ve got it recorded that he was crucified in 30 AD. At that time there were synagogues as far as Rome already. And the reason why this is not understood is because there are two books that were taken out. Now I’m not saying that it is inspired text. I’m just saying it has historical value. And that is about the, oh man I always forget this name of the two books. It nicely slots in between Malachi and Matthew. I can’t remember the names of the books. (Maccabees, 1st and 2nd.) In any case, in those books, there is conversation that takes place between Israel or Judah and Rome that sees the Romans or the Greeks come into place in Israel. The northern tribes, those 10, technically 11, between 10 and 11, but because the Lord took 11 tribes away and kept just Judah for himself, but some of those have gone in and a great portion of Levi actually went back into Judah and they were already also established in Judah by their sanctuary cities which was sort of like a big deal. Let’s just leave it at that.
But these 10, what we call lost tribes, we do not have any record in the word of God that they ever rejoined with Judah to unite the house of Jacob again. That’s why Ezekiel 37 is just before the war of Gog and Magog. Now, we’ve got these 11 tribes, essentially 10 tribes, that have gone missing in biblical text after 2 Kings 17. From there on out, you are dealing with the likes of Judah, the house of Judah, for the sake of King David, until Christ. And then Christ declares this to His brethren from the tribe that He comes from, even from His clan. (He comes from the clan of King David. His mother had some lineage to the daughters of Aaron through Elizabeth, her cousin.) He proclaims that the kingdom of God is near, even in us. It is at hand. And they, those in Judea, did not receive Him. They crucified Him. Now, there were many that did. Just by the way, in case you didn’t know that, there’s many that actually did believe. Today, we would call them Messianic Jews.
Then the Lord Jesus Christ is crucified. We’ve got the church going into some form of being persecuted. We see this with the likes of Paul, or Saul then, coming against the church and there’s this persecution of the sect of those that walk in the way of Jesus Christ. All right? In other words, we’re talking about all the text in the New Testament. In 70 AD, and Paul was still alive at this time, Jerusalem fell. The temple was burnt down and the Jews were scattered by the Grecians, or the Romans, the Greek people and they disbursed. Now they were disbursed (scattered) before that already, as we learned from the synagogues that are everywhere. But, the church now is also disbursed and Assyria have supplanted the tribes of the 11 or the 10 lost tribes as they are known. And from there on out, what we know, as the house of Jacob was scattered broad and wide all over the world.
We see the Roman Empire adopting the Christian belief under Constantine. We see they shape that by doing an all-inclusive pagan entry into the gospel. We see the Sabbath day being changed, the calendar being changed and all of this takes place in a way that it is sort of like subverted under a disguise. You know, the victor writes the history books and places names get changed by the victors. Then in 1917 something happened. British royalty sends a note to Sir the Rothschild and gives them what was then known as Palestine for a Zionist move to establish the nation of Israel. 1917, it’s known as the Balfour Declaration. In the house of the Rothschild’s today, they still have that Balfour Declaration. They’ve got it. I think it was William Churchill that sent it? Something to that effect. Friends, the territory belonged to; well, the ground at that time was under the authority of the crown of England, the United Kingdom. And then we see atrocities, between 65 and 80 million people die in the Second World War. In 1947, a nation is birthed, in one day.
Now, what many (think is all of Israel, are actually more so just the Jews) I think is because there are these efforts to bring the Jews back home. But it is the Yehudim, friends. It’s the Yehudim. It’s the house of Judah and there is a significance to that, too. There’s a significance that I’m not going into at this point, because you need to understand the end time prophecies in order to understand the crucial bit that the house of Judah has (to be) established in that area again, even for a third temple to be built. What I’m trying to show you here is that the scattering of the house of Jacob, of all 12 tribes, it is the Lord that brought it into place.
At first, the house of Judah was sent off into Babylon. And then, the Lord brings them back. And remember, the decree of King Cyrus and they rebuilt the temple? But, as they come back from Babylon, they bring some of those practices in and when you get back, you get Ezra 9. And then, they join themselves to the kingdom or the empire of the Romans, calling Caesar their king. And, in 70 AD, they were scattered again. Because now, the descendant of David that would forever be enthroned was standing at the right hand of God in heaven. It’s a long story, about 6,000 years old, or developed over 6,000 years.
Now friends, we are also warned by the Word of God, not to keep ourselves busy with genealogies. It causes contention and disharmonies and we are called to live in peace with all people (as far as possible – Paul interjects.) We should not let the world’s classifications divide us, for it is the enemy of God that brings discord. As the tares and the wheat stand upon the field, the Lord brings his water to both. Both receive the water, but only one kind produces the fruit. Leave the things that are above. (You know what is above us, above our understanding, leave it to God.) Trust and wait on Him.
I leave you, yet again; with another quote of Jeremiah: “Hear the word of the Lord, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say ye that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him as a shepherd doth his flock.” (Interesting.) “For the Lord hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he.”
In modern speech, “God has got this.” It is in his hand. All according to his purpose, which will be revealed to us in due season. Just trust in Him and He will gather all that is His.
We don’t want you to go out and shake people by the shoulders and say, “Oh, you’re a child of Satan.” God is the judge. And, if you’re not familiar with animals, if you didn’t grow up on the farm, if you do not pay attention to those types of things, you might not necessarily be able to tell the difference between a sheep-ram and a goat-ram. There is a difference. But, if you’re not familiar with it, if you do not know the word, if you do not know the history, if you do not know how these things came to be, you might get confused whether you are a sheep or a goat. And here is a hint: If you can repent, if you can receive the word of God, if you can receive the salvation by Christ, you are no goat, because goats can’t. Neither is it available to them. James makes it clear. They previously were ordained to condemnation. They are from a bloodline that is cursed. They cannot. They will not. They are incapable of it. But they’re very good tricksters, just like their father. To differentiate between the two is not in our judgment. It is for God to judge. He’s the righteous judge. What we can do is grow and produce fruit, so that we are not mistakenly taken as a tare.

From the YouVersion Bible App
Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Note on the Verse:
I want you to think about this race that we are to run as Paul proclaims it. You see, Paul would have known Isaiah and so would Christ. There is a mystery that was proclaimed by the earth’s early apostles friends which many in our generation of a truth long ago already have forgotten. How many of you can trace at least partially that your ancestors come from another country?

As you can see, there is an extensive list of references in this regard, and believe me, this is not all. But, what we can take from this is just what is written and available to us, that now we know in part.
“God has got this.” It is in his hand. All according to his purpose, which will be revealed to us in due season. Just trust in Him and He will gather all that is His. Endure in your faith in Jesus Christ until the end.

The Lord has been working with me regarding a new way that the devotionals must be done on a daily basis, so you might see shorter devotionals going forward. There might be one, two, or three larger recordings depending on the will of God, but these will probably be additional.
This morning’s devotion comes from the verse of the day.
There are a few ways in which you can receive the daily devotional and for your convenience, I make the links available here below:
We are to receive the Word of GOD by the Spirit, so I strongly urge you to pray before you receive the Devotional. Let Christ take the lead in your Spiritual Development.
2. Scripture Text
Based on the YouVersion Bible Verse of the Day.
Matthew 6:33 KJV
[33] But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Have you ever wondered what verse follows this famous verse? It is actually also quite well known.
Matthew 6:34 KJV
[34] Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
The Kingdom of GOD is within you, (Luke 17:21) it is near, even at hand. So, how do you seek it, if it is in you? And is it some future dated event, when Christ says not to take thought of tomorrow?
A guidance to this Kingdom focus comes from earlier in this chapter of Matthew, “Thy will be done” and also in this, “Thy Kingdom come.” Where is GOD’S Kingdom established when we are subject to Him? That takes place in our every moment, “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Yes, indeed, that means GOD gets a say in our choices, in fact, Jesus reigns by the Holy Spirit in us, while we live out our day. He died for us, so we may live for Him, right?
Not taking thought of tomorrow, is to focus on the Kingdom today. So, what is your instruction from your King on this day, and will you permit His Kingdom to be established in your life, where He leads and you follow, because that is obedience. That is to submit yourself under His reign, handing your crown to Him, that He be your King and you not so as you will and please. What you do, is His will for His pleasure. So we reign with Christ in us, even over our own flesh, guiding it where to go, by standing in agreement with the instruction of GOD our Father.
Maybe now, you will have a better sense on how to seek the Kingdom of GOD first, because it means you seek his will in your choices, today. We live for Him. You might find Matthew 5 very interesting if you read it now. Much of that is for today too.
Friends, I am not saying that there is no millennial reign of Christ on earth as we read in Revelation, because that is surely coming. I am also not saying that we won’t go to be the Lord where He is, in other words, Heaven, for that too will come. I am saying that the journey starts afresh each day, and it is Kingdom focused, for we have part in GOD’S Kingdom here and now, the Kingdom of GOD is near. While we are still learners, we are in the school, but that school is in the Kingdom of GOD (the inner being, the soul) working in conjunction with the Holy Spirit, for GOD’S Kingdom to be established in us, that Jesus reigns in us. So we seek His Kingdom in us, and pray for it in the Lord’s Prayer. The Kingdom of GOD is at hand, and the labour of our hands is for the will of GOD to be established on earth. So we do good, we act with charity and patience, and yes, even long-suffering with forgiveness in heart. You can say we are active-participants in those efforts, seeking first the Kingdom of heaven, over our own will. Better yet, when the will of GOD and our will begins to align without murmuring, but with agreement for good with the Holy Spirit of GOD, which is the indwelling of the Father and the Son, making Their abode in us.
I know, today took a bit of a new approach on the note of the day, but it is important to understand that the verse of the day is not just for today, but every day, in every thought, word and deed. Even to cover a multitude of sin with charity, in forgiveness, by the Blood of Him who saved us.
In other words, be merciful and kind, do unto others as you would have them do for you. For what you have done for the least of these, you have done for your King. (Wait for it to truly sink in) If the Kingdom of GOD is in us, is it not true for all of us?

2. Scripture Text
Again, the Verse(s) of the Day from the You Version Bible App
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 KJV
[16] Rejoice evermore. [17] Pray without ceasing. [18] In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
As you may know already, I share the verse of the day as often as possible, most of the time, almost every day. I understand that for many, that is the only guidance they get in the day out of the Word of GOD, hopeful that at least they may have the inner working of the Holy Spirit in them.
This morning, 3 verses given for that purpose, and yet for today, these three alone does not finish the concept for understanding, it is but a partial guidance. Note how the verse ends with, “this is the will of GOD in Christ Jesus concerning you.” And that is dangerous, that people will assume that is all said here. But, look at what follows in the text.
1 Thessalonians 5:19-24 KJV
[19] Quench not the Spirit. [20] Despise not prophesyings. [21] Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. [22] Abstain from all appearance of evil. [23] And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. [24] Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
“Faithful is he that calleth you, who will also do it.” That seems important to know, doesn’t it? Fully quoted, this quickly becomes so much more, that it is not just about smiling and saying thank you all the time, but look, “quench not the Spirit,” so what if the Holy Spirit says, “go help that man, ” or, “take a different route this morning to work?” Does the Holy Spirit not do that in us? “Despise not prophecyings.”
When you understand the gravity of this, how not to “grieve the Spirit” or to “blaspheme the Holy Ghost” and the peril in these transgressions, concerning forgiveness, you will also understand why it is written to test all things (by the Spirit) and keep what is good. That is how He that calleth (note present tense) you, will also do it. When you understand that it is the Spirit in you that gives this guidance, joy will come and you will have gratitude, and not count it as if you yourself is good, but that GOD in you performs all good through us. At best, we can be satisfied with ourselves if we are obedient, and even that can only be true, if you quench not the Holy Spirit (or ignore the quiet voice of GOD within.)
You know friends, the Word of GOD is not like a bumper sticker, or some saying that remains on paper or maybe a desktop wall paper. The will of GOD is that we should live out His Word, repent of our sin, be forgiven in Jesus Christ and be saved. Remember? This is the will of GOD, that all be saved and none be lost, for GOD loved the World so much, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believe on Him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life.
Today, I don’t give you the links to the scriptures, because I did not look it up. I give it to you as it lies in me. There is also this concerning today’s scripture. Try the spirits if they are of GOD. Taking captive every thought, and I suggest you test your thoughts too, if they even be of GOD.
Now, how is this possible without praying without ceasing? Is GOD first in your body, mind and soul? Do you love your neighbour as yourself? Yes, friends, all of these apply to the text today, when the full thought is completed.
The verse of the day should I fact not be that one liner you take with you each day, alone, but more a guidance to remember a section of the Word each day. And how often have you noticed that the verse of the day confirms the Word received by the Spirit? If only we are obedient and seek the kingdom of GOD first. Who is it that brings our daily bread? Not your pay cheque, for without the grace of GOD you would not even have that. That brings us right back to being grateful and having joy for the favor that GOD shows us. There are those that GOD has called to thank-less jobs here on earth, some even without any financial reward. How soon are those abandoned for something that will sustain the bank balance in the black?
The word of GOD is like instructions to survive an oppressive world system, to endure until the end, so we may receive the true reward that awaits us with Christ Jesus at redemption.
In the Word, there is even more for each day, but if we can hold on to what GOD gives today, we might receive what He gives tomorrow. So it is GOD doing it, not us, for without His guidance by both the Spirit and the Word, we would not even know what is good to do. In realisation of this Truth, we are back at gratitude and joy again. Then we can know what to be thankful for, that we are not just wild animals, but that it is the breath of GOD that made us living souls.

New identity in Christ (Part 7 – Final)
I have enjoyed this Bible reading plan so much that I want to share the link with you. Not only was it insightful on its own, but has served as a confirmation of the daily devotional too. Remember, we do not believe in coincidence, but divine order and purpose. So as before, I added the scriptures from this plan here today, because it actually builds out from the Devotional to an even deeper realisation, in a “crossindexing” way. Today, I want to share with you the actual devotional from the Bible plan, with credit to the authors and a gratitude to GOD for bringing it on our way. Listen to what Andrew and Wendy Palau writes:
Try this one thing… (Their title for the devotional)
Do you ever feel like there’s a war going on in your mind? There really is! The Bible describes your mind as a battlefield. When we follow Jesus, we commit ourselves to aligning our lives with the truth. The father of lies does not like that—so he desires to pull you away, tricking you with words of doubt.
Don’t be fooled. Don’t even listen to the enemy’s definition of who you are. You ARE who Jesus says you are.
Here’s how the Bible teaches us to fight the enemy’s lies…
It says in 2 Corinthians 10 that:
“…though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power (that’s spiritual power from God) to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments (these can be arguments from the world or Satan) and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to obey Christ…”
The word of God—it’s like a spiritual weapon—it is stronger than our minds, and it’s stronger than the lies of the enemy. You can learn to wield it as a defense against the lies of the enemy.
The Adversary does not give up.
He will never stop trying to convince you that you’re not who God says you are. He’ll use your negative thoughts, hurtful people, and worldly value systems to try to convince you that you’re…
Not good enough
Not pure enough
Not worthy of God’s love
Unlovable
Worthless
And that you might as well give up.
Even though we know these things aren’t true, they can seep into our minds without us even noticing. We all have areas of life that are particularly sensitive for us—old wounds and parts of our lives where we feel extra vulnerable. These are the areas where the enemy likes to come and attack us. We need to fight this battle by replacing the words of the liar with words of truth from the Bible. And we get better at this the more we practice it.
God says in the Bible that you are…
His child
That you are chosen and incredibly loved
Completely washed clean by Jesus’ blood
Securely saved out of death, and
Created for a wonderful purpose.
Your identity is no longer in the world, or in yourself, and certainly not in the lies the enemy would have you believe.
I want to invite you today to write down a list of all the particular lies the enemy likes to tell you about who you are. Then make a new list showing who God says you are.
When you’re finished, rip up the old list and throw it away. Take the truth of who you are in Christ, and pin it up somewhere you’ll be likely to see it every day. Maybe next to your bed, or even where you eat your meals.
Remind yourself daily who you are in Christ, and the voice of the adversary will fade.
1 Peter 5:6-11 KJV
[6] Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: [7] casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. [8] Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: [9] whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. [10] But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. [11] To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
See how this section then also speaks back to what we have looked at in the week gone past too. Even as we now have a full view look at Ephesians 6 which has been referenced so much in this process. Now, you can see that it is part of your new identity in Christ. And, if you are still struggling, this might be where you want to put your attention, to gain a deeper understanding of this. For we are a “No Fear” people, only fearing GOD (Having reverence for the LORD)
Ephesians 6:10-20 KJV
[10] Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. [11] Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. [12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. [13] Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. [14] Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; [15] and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; [16] above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. [17] And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: [18] praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; [19] and for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, [20] for which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
What a journey we have gone through, hey? Talk about security and peace, where else is it so sure as it is in Jesus Christ. For now, we know that we are in GOD’s Hand, and that He will work all that is needed to see us through, if only we trust, and obey; which are elements of our faith.
There is now truly no condemnation for those who are in Jesus Christ, who walks after the Spirit and not the flesh. We should thus not forget that our salvation is in Jesus Christ and not the opinions of man, this world or worse, Satan himself.
Do you now feel equipped?
Selah, Shalom.

2. Scripture Text
Today follows suit on yesterday. Verse 105 is the verse of the day, but I have extended a bit for context and the devotional.
Psalm 119:105-109 KJV
[105] Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, And a light unto my path. [106] I have sworn, and I will perform it, That I will keep thy righteous judgments. [107] I am afflicted very much: Quicken me, O LORD, according unto thy word. [108] Accept, I beseech thee, the freewill offerings of my mouth, O LORD, And teach me thy judgments. [109] My soul is continually in my hand: Yet do I not forget thy law.
Do you remember a time when you could not drive? How intimidating it was when you first drove in traffic on a public road. Before you could legally drive upon the road, you had to pass your driver’s test, not just of skill, but also of your knowledge of the laws that govern it.
The Word of GOD is what governs life, but really, it is the safe passage to eternal life. Here on earth, we are still learners, learning the rules for the Kingdom of GOD. As the headlamps on a vehicle, so light the Word of GOD our way, which bring us the beautiful verse of the Day from the pen of David, “Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet.”
There is another matter I would like to show you. Look at this verse:
2 Corinthians 3:17 KJV
[17] Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
Who is the Lord? Who is the Holy Spirit? God poured out of His Spirit upon us, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Word made flesh, and by Christ, the I dwelling of the Holy Spirit is forming Christ in us. Yes, just like someone learning to drive on public roads, in traffic, with on coming traffic and a set amount of lanes. You could say, a narrow path. Look at this:
Acts 2:17-18 KJV
[17] And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, And your young men shall see visions, And your old men shall dream dreams: [18] And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
I do not want to keep you long today. So I will do my best to keep it short. For the modern day, you can see it almost like the headlamps of the vehicle. If you drive at night, without those, you’ll drive in darkness. But it is more than that, because by day we still have the Sun.
Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet.
Selah, Shalom

a.Further reading: Isaiah
Remember How Paul explained about the wild olive branch being grafted into the cultivated Olive tree? (Romans 11:17-24) How the church is grafted into the promise of Israel (not replaced.) Also, that we become the children of Abraham by our faith, for faith was accounted to Abraham as righteousness.(Romans 4:11-16) Well, let us just have a quick look at what GOD says via Isaiah in chapter 48.
Isaiah 48:1-22 KJV
[1] Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness. [2] For they call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves upon the God of Israel; The LORD of hosts is his name. [3] I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I shewed them; I did them suddenly, and they came to pass. [4] Because I knew that thou art obstinate, and thy neck is an iron sinew, and thy brow brass; [5] I have even from the beginning declared it to thee; before it came to pass I shewed it thee: lest thou shouldest say, Mine idol hath done them, and my graven image, and my molten image, hath commanded them. [6] Thou hast heard, see all this; and will not ye declare it? I have shewed thee new things from this time, even hidden things, and thou didst not know them. [7] They are created now, and not from the beginning; even before the day when thou heardest them not; lest thou shouldest say, Behold, I knew them. [8] Yea, thou heardest not; yea, thou knewest not; yea, from that time that thine ear was not opened: for I knew that thou wouldest deal very treacherously, and wast called a transgressor from the womb. [9] For my name’s sake will I defer mine anger, and for my praise will I refrain for thee, that I cut thee not off. [10] Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction. [11] For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another. [12] Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last. [13] Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together. [14] All ye, assemble yourselves, and hear; which among them hath declared these things? The LORD hath loved him: he will do his pleasure on Babylon, and his arm shall be on the Chaldeans. [15] I, even I, have spoken; yea, I have called him: I have brought him, and he shall make his way prosperous. [16] Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, hath sent me. [17] Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go. [18] O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea: [19] thy seed also had been as the sand, and the offspring of thy bowels like the gravel thereof; his name should not have been cut off nor destroyed from before me. [20] Go ye forth of Babylon, flee ye from the Chaldeans, with a voice of singing declare ye, tell this, utter it even to the end of the earth; say ye, The LORD hath redeemed his servant Jacob. [21] And they thirsted not when he led them through the deserts: he caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them: he clave the rock also, and the waters gushed out. [22] There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked.
This passage clearly speaks of when GOD will redeem Israel for the sake of His Own Name. Veiled, unable to see, but GOD is not done with Israel, He will plead with them and find them in “the furnace of affliction.”
b.New identity in Christ (Part 6)
John 14:16-27 KJV
[16] And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; [17] even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. [18] I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. [19] Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. [20] At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. [21] He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. [22] Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? [23] Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. [24] He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me. [25] These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. [26] But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. [27] Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
[10] For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth. [11] For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious. [12] Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech: [13] and not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: [14] but their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. [15] But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. [16] Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. [17] Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. [18] But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Now we have looked at a few of these elements. Do you feel included in the promises of GOD? Is GOD in control of your journey, and is the Word of GOD with you?
6. Closing Paragraph
Today formed an unusual flow of sequence and format. We are looking at the Mysteries of Salvation by Jesus Christ and the intentions of GOD, our Father. From today’s scripture, can you conclude that what Christ spoke about the Kingdom of GOD, that it is near, even at hand speaks also to this “making an abode in us” and that is reliant on obedience to the Spirit of GOD? If true for you, you are on the right way, though still being delivered and going through this furnace of affliction and sanctification, you know the outcome, and that GOD will do it all for the sake of His Name.
So, trust in GOD and in GOD’s process.
Selah, Shalom.

Note for 20250819 – 1 Peter 5v8 – Peace and Safety
1. Opening
Today I want to bring you (me that have no formal training in any school, but thought in the Word of GOD by the Spirit of GOD that indwells) somewhat of a master class in understanding the nature of this world, its current ruler, and the regime change that will most assuredly come.
This grew from the verse of the day, that gave a marker that the time has come to declare a deeper trough which may be difficult for many to hear, nonetheless remaining the truth. The hope is to ultimately help you see how much sits behind the verse of the day and also Ephesians 6:12, because both come with a back story that is too large to teach in one session, and yet we must at this time.
There are a few ways in which you can partake in the Daily Devotional:
We are to receive the Word of GOD by the Spirit, so I strongly urge you to pray before you receive the Devotional. Let Christ take the lead in your Spiritual Development.
2. Scripture Text
Here is the verse of the day from the YouVersion Bible App, which initiated this devotional.
1 Peter 5:8 KJV
[8] Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Of late, there has been much talk about exposure, “whistle blowing” and famous people saying alarming things. Some of these rapports are quite disturbing and hard to hear.
Today, I have one single verse as the scripture reading that is also the verse of the day, today. And then I have another single verse, which I hope will awaken all who hears, to matters that used to be assigned to “conspiracy theories,” but now are discussed in parliaments and senates.
Daniel 2:43 KJV
[43] And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.
If they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men, then they are not part of the seed of men, friends. Not?
Who are “they?” And how shall they mingle themselves with the seed of men, but not cleave one to another? The concept of cleaving is well understood from Genesis, as coming together as one flesh.
Now, who is this one that moves around like a lion, seeking whom he may devour again?
Ephesians 6:12 KJV
[12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Who is our struggle against then, where does it manifest? Let us look at an extreme case.
Mark 5:2-9 KJV
[2] And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, [3] who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains: [4] because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him. [5] And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones. [6] But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him, [7] and cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not. [8] For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit. [9] And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.
But, there is something about our reading in Daniel that is slightly terrifying if it goes with some understanding of how these spirits work, friends. The toes that are of clay and Iron, comes from Nebuchadnezzar’s dream of the statue that represents the kingdoms of man, which started with his Babylonian Kingdom.
So, who are “they?” Especially if we recall that Jesus said we will know them by their fruit.
Jude 1:4 KJV
[4] For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
[12] Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
[13] I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan’s seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.
[18] And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. [19] Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. [20] Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
Now who is this Lion walking around again seeking whom he might devour? You know, so many are terrified of reading the good news that is in the book of Revelation. Let me show you how a thousand years of peace start…
Revelation 20:1-3 KJV
[1] And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. [2] And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, [3] and cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
When Satan is bound, there is peace on earth, but who is Satan?
Ezekiel 28:14-19 KJV
[14] Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. [15] Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. [16] By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. [17] Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. [18] Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. [19] All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.
He is a Cherub, not just an angel. What do we know of cherubs, and no, not the baby angels that they have painted in pictures.
Ezekiel 10:14 KJV
[14] And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of a cherub, and the second face was the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.
[6] And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind. [7] And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle. [8] And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
These are examples of Cherubim. This is the order of who Satan was, before He was cast down to earth. Not a red horned man with a whimsical tail.
I need you to be fully aware that this is just an introduction. It is crucial that you gain a full understanding of who the enemy is, and that you understand the true depth of Ephesians 6:12
Ephesians 6:12 KJV
[12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
For The concept of demon possession and oppression has been some matter considered “conspiracy theories” too. And now we have reports of manifestations without a mingling with mankind, they showing up also on their own, as they are. I know many will say, “Matt lost his mind!” That’s okay, I am speaking for the sake of those who have ears to hear, for eyes will see and not perceive the threat and worship them. This “they” from Daniel, and these strange men, from Jude.
If I speak more in just one session, it would not be wise. But, the truth resonates in those Holy Spirit filled one’s. You know, but it is unpopular to speak about, isn’t it? What has Hollywood prepared people for, friends? Will they call them super humans or gods when they return? Lying signs and wonders.
Know your enemy, who it really is. Ephesians 6, also gives the whole Armour of GOD.

Jeremiah 27:1-22 KJV
[1] In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah came this word unto Jeremiah from the LORD, saying, [2] Thus saith the LORD to me; Make thee bonds and yokes, and put them upon thy neck, [3] and send them to the king of Edom, and to the king of Moab, and to the king of the Ammonites, and to the king of Tyrus, and to the king of Zidon, by the hand of the messengers which come to Jerusalem unto Zedekiah king of Judah; [4] and command them to say unto their masters, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Thus shall ye say unto your masters; [5] I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed meet unto me. [6] And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the beasts of the field have I given him also to serve him. [7] And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son’s son, until the very time of his land come: and then many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of him. [8] And it shall come to pass, that the nation and kingdom which will not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation will I punish, saith the LORD, with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand. [9] Therefore hearken not ye to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreamers, nor to your enchanters, nor to your sorcerers, which speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon: [10] for they prophesy a lie unto you, to remove you far from your land; and that I should drive you out, and ye should perish. [11] But the nations that bring their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him, those will I let remain still in their own land, saith the LORD; and they shall till it, and dwell therein. [12] I spake also to Zedekiah king of Judah according to all these words, saying, Bring your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him and his people, and live. [13] Why will ye die, thou and thy people, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, as the LORD hath spoken against the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon? [14] Therefore hearken not unto the words of the prophets that speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon: for they prophesy a lie unto you. [15] For I have not sent them, saith the LORD, yet they prophesy a lie in my name; that I might drive you out, and that ye might perish, ye, and the prophets that prophesy unto you. [16] Also I spake to the priests and to all this people, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Hearken not to the words of your prophets that prophesy unto you, saying, Behold, the vessels of the LORD’s house shall now shortly be brought again from Babylon: for they prophesy a lie unto you. [17] Hearken not unto them; serve the king of Babylon, and live: wherefore should this city be laid waste? [18] But if they be prophets, and if the word of the LORD be with them, let them now make intercession to the LORD of hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of the LORD, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, go not to Babylon. [19] For thus saith the LORD of hosts concerning the pillars, and concerning the sea, and concerning the bases, and concerning the residue of the vessels that remain in this city, [20] which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took not, when he carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah from Jerusalem to Babylon, and all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem; [21] yea, thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that remain in the house of the LORD, and in the house of the king of Judah and of Jerusalem; [22] they shall be carried to Babylon, and there shall they be until the day that I visit them, saith the LORD; then will I bring them up, and restore them to this place.
[31] Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible. [32] This image’s head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass, [33] his legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay. [34] Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. [35] Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth. [36] This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king. [37] Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory. [38] And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold. [39] And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth. [40] And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise. [41] And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay. [42] And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. [43] And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. [44] And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. [45] Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.
(And related also to today’s devotional as you will see by the closing)
Psalm 103:1-22 KJV
[1] Bless the LORD, O my soul: And all that is within me, bless his holy name. [2] Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all his benefits: [3] Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; Who healeth all thy diseases; [4] Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; Who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; [5] Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; So that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s. [6] The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment For all that are oppressed. [7] He made known his ways unto Moses, His acts unto the children of Israel. [8] The LORD is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. [9] He will not always chide: Neither will he keep his anger for ever. [10] He hath not dealt with us after our sins; Nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. [11] For as the heaven is high above the earth, So great is his mercy toward them that fear him. [12] As far as the east is from the west, So far hath he removed our transgressions from us. [13] Like as a father pitieth his children, So the LORD pitieth them that fear him. [14] For he knoweth our frame; He remembereth that we are dust. [15] As for man, his days are as grass: As a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. [16] For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; And the place thereof shall know it no more. [17] But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, And his righteousness unto children’s children; [18] To such as keep his covenant, And to those that remember his commandments to do them. [19] The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; And his kingdom ruleth over all. [20] Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, That do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word. [21] Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts; Ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure. [22] Bless the LORD, all his works in all places of his dominion: Bless the LORD, O my soul.
[1] That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; [2] (for the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) [3] that which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. [4] And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. [5] This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. [6] If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: [7] but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. [8] If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
Now, here towards the end, you might feel a bit overwhelmed, and it is part of the reason why these devotionals are also left in writing for your benefit; that you can revisit it. So Book mark it, because you might have to share this with someone going forward (not what I said, but the scriptures)
It has to do with the Helmet of Salvation in the Armour of GOD, which is Salvation.
So, why is Ephesians 6:12 so important? Because it also ties up to another verse that has as yet not been quoted in today’s devotional today.
Matthew 6:15 KJV
[15] but if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Of a truth, it would be beneficial for me to continue on to absolutely bring a holistic view of this through with further scriptures, but we have already looked at an enormous sectional extract from the Holy Scriptures of GOD. So I will close off briefly and permit the Holy Spirit to minister further to you in this regard.
You see, the enemy moves against us, and when we go to war against others (or even just approve such battles) we side on the side of unforgiveness, which cuts us off from salvation and removes the helmet of salvation so we can get a “head shot” of lies from that old serpent, Satan. Then we walk after a lie in self-justification which voids the salvation of Jesus Christ for us, until we repent; when our Loving Father, by the Blood of Jesus Christ is quick to forgive.
Know thy enemy and his tactics. Forgive and be forgiven and stand in the Righteousness of Christ, ready for redemption and his coming.
This morning you hear from Brother Philip (my Timothy) a devotional that the Lord led him to write on the 13th of August 2025 (Recorded on the 17th of August 2025.) It may adapt the format in which it comes a little (because no two people are the same, the Lord has made us unique, each of us.)
There are a few ways in which you can partake in the Daily Devotional:
We are to receive the Word of GOD by the Spirit, so I strongly urge you to pray before you receive the Devotional. Let Christ take the lead in your Spiritual Development.
2. Devotional Reflection
This morning, at ten to six, God called me out of bed with very specific instructions on how and what I am meant to do before coming to sit before Him. As I was going through the process as instructed, this question came up in my heart: a serious question for the believer who stands on the edge of a very prophesied-about, very beautiful, yet terrifying day, which is the day of the Lord.
The question that came up in me is this: Where do you stand? Now, you see, as believers, this question is asked of us often: Where do you stand? It is asked of us in our daily interactions with people, whether that be loved ones, friends, or strangers on the street. The question is always asked, but sometimes not in so many words. You see, daily we cast our lots as to what kingdom we are for and which we are against. Someone cuts you off in traffic; what comes out of you is your lot that you cast. Your loved one goes through a difficult time; your reaction to this is your lot that is cast. So, as I sit here this morning, I’m asking you to seriously look at yourself and see: Where do you stand? I answered this question during my prayer this morning. With all my shortcomings and failures and my moments of weakness, my strong tower is the Lord; I run to God. This isn’t to cast shame on anyone else, but I have learned to trust our Heavenly Father through thick and thin. And even with overwhelming pressure in life, God is still the peace in which I stand. Now, there is more to this question, and we are going to look at it now. This was just an overview of the question.
But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.
This is a very interesting chapter to read when you understand it. If you go read all the different kings that ruled in Israel, you will see some did good before the eyes of the Lord, and some did abominations before God, yet they still called themselves Israel. We find this in many Christians today, too. The very same balance is struck, and it is over the kingdom of their heart. Some do right before the eyes of the Lord, and some do abominations. Now, what does this have to do with the question of where do you stand? Well, everything; it has everything to do with that question because it is how you answer it.
I will point to myself for this example, so judgment starts here in my heart first. If I stand on a Sunday and go to church, praising and worshiping God and inspiring people with words I heard from other fruitful trees, and then go home, sleep, and wake up Monday morning to the rage that I just ignored on a Sunday, am I bringing good fruit or offering to God? Or would that be considered abominations? You see, I do go to church on Sundays, but God doesn’t only hear from me on a Sunday. As evidence of this message I’m writing to you today. But why do I point at myself and not just speak in general terms? You see, if the wrong is in me, how could I teach you the right way to do things? Did Christ not say to deal with the log in your own eye before concerning yourself with taking the splinter out of your brother’s? You see, I’d rather point at myself than at you. Because only God knows your heart. But I know mine before Him. So, to speak of this “Where do you stand?” moment, it is that question: Does God only know you on a Sunday? Or when it’s going bad in your life? Or you can fill in the blank as to when God knows you.
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them ; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore Come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, And touch not the unclean thing ; And I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, And ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
I want you to look at this scripture and understand it. And then I want you to look at your life. And you see that question again can be asked: Are you unequally yoked with unbelievers? And reading the rest of the scripture points to this question of where do you stand. Now, you see, those who run off before gaining understanding would just go and cut off every non-believer in their life, saying in their hearts it’s what God said to do. But then I have to ask you this question too: If the person who preached Jesus to you remained silent with that same message in their heart, would you yourself not still be like them? You see, this question of where do you stand is not only of if you stand for God or for this world, but do you stand in judgment, do you stand in love, do you stand in peace, or do you stand in vengeance?
Where, my friends, do you stand? Because we are called to separation, as given by this scripture. And in that, it is separation not just of the flesh but in the spirit too. You see, you are either led by the Holy Spirit of God or by a spirit of this world. You separate yourself unto God, and by God’s instruction, you stand where He puts you. And sometimes that might be in a bar, to talk to those lost in the sorrow of this world, not to judge but to speak. Leave the judging to God. But using this bar as a good way to point to this separation of where you are standing, you see, you can be in that bar and never partake of it. No strong drink passes your lips, no swearing or foul speech leaves your heart. And then you walk out of there, maybe even bringing a fellow brother with you. You see, in desperation, people will turn to comfort. Now, for the believer, our comfort is in the Holy Spirit, who is the Comforter. Someone stuck in the world will try to find comfort in the world. Notice what I said: stuck in the world. And it’s in this that we can then stand for Christ and reach out a hand and say, come, there is more room.
Every day we get to choose where we stand. And the prayer of my heart is that we choose Christ. Because one day we will stand either before Christ or before the White Throne. And then where we stood will be accounted to us, either as peace or judgment. Make the choice now while it is still free.
Selah Shalom.

Note for 20250817 – Acts – Part 28 – Acts 28 – End Destination
1. Opening
Today, we read how Paul is received in Malta and how the locals are left in wonder when he survives the bite of a venomous viper. Now, the KJV explains them as barbarian, yet we learn that another ship of Alexandria wintered there.
Before we carry on, there are a few ways in which you can partake in the Daily Devotional:
We are to receive the Word of GOD by the Spirit, so I strongly urge you to pray before you receive the Devotional. Let Christ take the lead in your Spiritual Development.
2. Scripture Text
Acts 28:1-31 KJV
[1] And when they were escaped, then they knew that the island was called Melita. [2] And the barbarous people shewed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold. [3] And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand. [4] And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live. [5] And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm. [6] Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god. [7] In the same quarters were possessions of the chief man of the island, whose name was Publius; who received us, and lodged us three days courteously. [8] And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him. [9] So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed: [10] who also honoured us with many honours; and when we departed, they laded us with such things as were necessary. [11] And after three months we departed in a ship of Alexandria, which had wintered in the isle, whose sign was Castor and Pollux. [12] And landing at Syracuse, we tarried there three days. [13] And from thence we fetched a compass, and came to Rhegium: and after one day the south wind blew, and we came the next day to Puteoli: [14] where we found brethren, and were desired to tarry with them seven days: and so we went toward Rome. [15] And from thence, when the brethren heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii forum, and The three taverns: whom when Paul saw, he thanked God, and took courage. [16] And when we came to Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard: but Paul was suffered to dwell by himself with a soldier that kept him. [17] And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called the chief of the Jews together: and when they were come together, he said unto them, Men and brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans. [18] Who, when they had examined me, would have let me go, because there was no cause of death in me. [19] But when the Jews spake against it, I was constrained to appeal unto Cæsar; not that I had ought to accuse my nation of. [20] For this cause therefore have I called for you, to see you, and to speak with you: because that for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain. [21] And they said unto him, We neither received letters out of Judæa concerning thee, neither any of the brethren that came shewed or spake any harm of thee. [22] But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against. [23] And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening. [24] And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not. [25] And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers, [26] saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; And seeing ye shall see, and not perceive: [27] For the heart of this people is waxed gross, And their ears are dull of hearing, And their eyes have they closed; Lest they should see with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And understand with their heart, And should be converted, And I should heal them. [28] Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it. [29] And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves. [30] And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him, [31] preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.
Today, additionally, marks the end of our reading of the Book of Acts, and Paul reaches his end destination in Rome, and he did testify to at least these Jews in the Biblical account. As we have it the following letters were written by Paul from Rome during this time period: Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians and Philemon.
The letters to Titus and Timothy are believed to have been written later, during what is known as Paul’s second imprisonment in Rome, after having done more evangelistic journeys. This only by hints in the epistles of Paul. But, even in today’s reading, there seems to be some liberty granted to Paul at this point. We also learn that this was about two years that he remained in Rome, and with his imprisonment by Felix, who also kept him for about the same period and traveling to Rome, it brings this imprisonment to at least 4 years and 3 months.
Now, as yet, I have not received guidance yet with confirmation of where our morning devotionals will go next. So, in some small part, we have reached an end destination too today. I am hoping to continue with the letter to the Ephesians next, but will wait on guidance. Today, there are also some markers, friends. I want you to know this, and the book of Acts, was a marker for me at the beginning of our reading if it too, when I told you that I do not know how long I will still be doing this, writing to you in the way we have had for so long now. For record, at this point, I have written over 2000 A4 pages on BlogSpot and a further approximate 2000 A4 pages on paper in ink by my own hand. The latter is in my personal possession in a ready to travel bag. I state again, I mention this only for the sake of record, not for any form of boasting, for it is not in my power that any of these came, but I give our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ the glory and are indeed grateful that I have been permitted to be the hand by which it came.
With a heart and a love of GOD, it is my great hope that I may continue on this journey, sharing more with you; like Paul knew he would have to testify for Christ in Rome, I have known for a long time that I will at some point cease in my writing here to you in this way.
This morning, I was awakened at 4:30am to write here to you. It is my sincere hope that this is not the end destination of our journey together, but it might be, in this form, at least. It is thus not surprising to me that the Lord laid it on brother Philip (of whom I have spoken to you about that he is as my Timothy) to write something that will be going out tomorrow instead of my writing to you. (For those of you here on YouVersion, you will have to go to my Blog to find it in about two days time, GOD willing.)
So, with all of this in mind, working together as by a divine hand, this might be the end destination for this service here by me, and for me to carry on to what the Lord has prepared me for for years. Some markers for that are still outstanding, which might put me in a form of resting period. At this moment though, that is still unclear to me. While some markers for the period are still outstanding, I must also point out that some (quite a few) are in place.
Once more, for the sake of record. The first major marker came by the regime change in Syria, where the current leader came in by unconventional way, and an onslaught of Damascus that has left the city resembling a ruined heap of rubble.
Isaiah 17:1 KJV
[1] The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.
This was a major marker for me that I have known about for decades. Another marker was that the European Central Bank (ECB) made the announcement (in March of 2025) that they will finish internal preparations for the digital euro, a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC,) with a deadline of October 2025. (https://www.polytechnique-insights.com/en/columns/economy/strengths-and-constraints-of-the-central-banks-digital-euro/) and subsequent announcements by the Bank of London.
Another marker was this “This menorah, which represents the eternal light of the world, is presented to President Donald J. Trump in honor and celebration of doing what no other man has ever done and that is to make peace between Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco and Sudan in the extraordinary Abraham Accords,” reads a plaque on the menorah’s base. (https://www.jns.org/jewish-org-presents-trump-with-menorah-in-appreciation-of-abraham-accords/) in February 2024. (Please note: it was a marker, not a political statement, and I only found out about it later, when indeed served as a marker)
Now, it is not my intention to list all of the markers here that pertains to a personal guideline I have received regarding the duties that I have been called to friends. And you know how the reports have come out about the trial red heifer sacrifice on the Mount of Olives recently (2025.) These are markers, as much as Rome was a marker for Paul, and after reaching it, he still remained there at least 2 years and still went on with further ministries.
This past Friday, there was a meeting between President Trump and Putin in Alaska, with a significant “fly over” at a historic meeting. It’s a marker. Further more, there is not enough space here to mark them all, but remember also this:
1 Thessalonians 5:1-10 KJV
[1] But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. [2] For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. [3] For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. [4] But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. [5] Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. [6] Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. [7] For they that sleep, sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. [8] But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. [9] For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, [10] who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
Friends, we have an end destination too. And, we were called to keep the watch, to look up when we see all of the things mentioned in passages like Matthew 24. There is an end destination.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 KJV
[13] But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. [14] For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. [15] For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. [16] For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: [17] then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. [18] Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
So, today, which is the last of the series on the Book of Acts, might very well be the last of the series devotionals. At some point, I will write my last devotional all together, and that day is in the hand of our Lord Jesus Christ. You see, I know I am not the Saviour, but only His servant and a messenger in these end times, the span of it, unknown, only knowing that the day of it comes like a thief in the night, though we stand in that season. I remind, again, to be weary of the servant that says, “My Lord delay his coming…” for that is not in me. But, I stand in agreement with the Word of GOD, that we should be ready at every moment to receive the Lord, oil and lamp in hand. For some of us will go to sleep in Christ, and still some caught up alive to join the Lord in the air, the day and the hour of it, still unknown. But as we journey here on earth, when we travel to a destination, we know that we should follow directions, even if those directions are familiar, still we should turn where we must and continue straight when no turning is required.
4. Verse of the Day
From the YouVersion Bible App
Hebrews 12:1 KJV
[1] Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Friends, I remind you again that I read the Verse of the Day as it is sent out by YouVersion Bible App, after I have written the note for the day. And yes, even the closing section here is written before time, even before the “Optional Reading/Study Expansion” which at this point is also from an external source outside my control. I share this so you may wonder with me about the Greatness of GOD and Spiritual confirmations.
5. Optional Reading / Study Expansion
New identity in Christ (Part 4)
Imagine how amazed I was when the scripture of the day (in the NIV text) literally spoke of “marked out for us.” But, here in the study expansion and optional reading bit of today’s devotional, we also see how GOD set up the security of our Salvation. It is of GOD in Jesus Christ, and Christ testifies of the Father here in John 8 too.
John 8:25-36 KJV
[25] Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning. [26] I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him. [27] They understood not that he spake to them of the Father. [28] Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. [29] And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him. [30] As he spake these words, many believed on him. [31] Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; [32] and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. [33] They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? [34] Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. [35] And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. [36] If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
“…the truth shall make you free.” What a wonderful thought and anchor to hold on to. As GOD leaves these markers for us of the route we must run, and remarkably informs us of those markers, we are also set free of fear and worry. Now, seeing that the nature of today’s devotional, it is important that I stipulate that those who do not read the Word of GOD and are not led by the Spirit of GOD is unaware of these markers. Then, apart from the shock of seeing something you might have heard somewhere by the Grace of GOD, you are left to your own devices to some degree.Sadly, to the greater degree, because of disobedience and rebellion against GOD’s Word.
In the Bible reading plan this just happens to be the very next text that was quoted, how we can know that we are not condemned by GOD, and it comes from, what I consider as one of the greatest chapters of direction and comfort for a believer, Romans 8
Romans 8:1-11 KJV
[1] There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. [2] For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. [3] For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: [4] that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. [5] For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. [6] For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. [7] Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. [8] So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. [9] But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. [10] And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. [11] But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Can you now see that we are left with one concern really, and that is to be in Jesus Christ. Okay, maybe two; for we are also to walk after the Spirit of GOD poured out in us, and not after the desires of the flesh, which is the make up of our daily struggle against our own flesh. But, GOD has given us of His Spirit, with the authority to rule with Christ over our own flesh (carnal desires.)
Now, as we head to the closing, I need to remind you that the closing was written before this section as well. So, written in the Spirit and confirmed by scripture that came outside my control. May it give you peace that GOD is indeed in control, and can work all matters together for good. (Romans 8:28 inspired)
6. Closing Paragraph
Paul made it all the way to Rome, just like the Angel of the Lord informed him, so will we arrive at the destination which Christ has set for us. We know there are only sheep and goats, with the wolves that scatter. There is only left and right, and Matthew 25 tells us all about it.
If this is then my last notice to you, then let it be significant. Find the Lord for yourself, as He has made Himself known to us on the Bible pages. Seek Him in the Spirit, as the Spirit of GOD was poured out on us. For the Word is to be received by the Spirit, so must we worship God, our Heavenly Father in Spirit and Truth, for “GOD is a Spirit.” (John 4:24)

1. Opening
As it was determined by the council of Agrippa and Bernice, the order of Festus came that Paul should continue on to Rome by his appeal to Caesar. Today’s reading is partly of that journey to Rome, running into some trouble. Not heeding Paul’s warning at Crete, they are shipwrecked by the Southeastern storm winds.
There are a few ways in which you can partake in the Daily Devotional:
We are to receive the Word of GOD by the Spirit, so I strongly urge you to pray before you receive the Devotional. Let Christ take the lead in your Spiritual Development.
2. Scripture Text
Acts 27:1-44 KJV
[1] And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus’ band. [2] And entering into a ship of Adramyttium, we launched, meaning to sail by the coasts of Asia; one Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us. [3] And the next day we touched at Sidon. And Julius courteously entreated Paul, and gave him liberty to go unto his friends to refresh himself. [4] And when we had launched from thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary. [5] And when we had sailed over the sea of Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Myra, a city of Lycia. [6] And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us therein. [7] And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come over against Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over against Salmone; [8] and, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is called The fair havens; nigh whereunto was the city of Lasea. [9] Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them, [10] and said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives. [11] Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul. [12] And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lieth toward the south west and north west. [13] And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete. [14] But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon. [15] And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive. [16] And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat: [17] which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, strake sail, and so were driven. [18] And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship; [19] and the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the ship. [20] And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away. [21] But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss. [22] And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship. [23] For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, [24] saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Cæsar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. [25] Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me. [26] Howbeit we must be cast upon a certain island. [27] But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the shipmen deemed that they drew near to some country; [28] and sounded, and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, they sounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms. [29] Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day. [30] And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the foreship, [31] Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved. [32] Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off. [33] And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take meat, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing. [34] Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you. [35] And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat. [36] Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took some meat. [37] And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen souls. [38] And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, and cast out the wheat into the sea. [39] And when it was day, they knew not the land: but they discovered a certain creek with a shore, into the which they were minded, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship. [40] And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoised up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward shore. [41] And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves. [42] And the soldiers’ counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape. [43] But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land: [44] and the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.
Having read all this, a hindsight view of it, leaves one with a sense of, “why didn’t they just listen to Paul’s warning?” But, a real time view brings the matter to clarity, since it is hard for mankind to heed to warning in the lack of evidence. One could place Paul’s warning to that of a watch man’s warning, almost prophetic in nature. If only they knew who Paul was, maybe they would have listened. Only when their lives hang in the balance do they give Paul some consideration as he declares to them, amidst the storm:
Acts 27:23-26 KJV
[23] For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, [24] saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Cæsar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. [25] Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me. [26] Howbeit we must be cast upon a certain island.
In our next reading, GOD sparing, we’ll learn that island to be Malta. Can you see how the salvation of the souls aboard this ship is tied to Paul’s calling to Rome, friends? Did you see how the salvation of those souls were connected to a requirement of obedience to the Word that came to Paul, and to abandon their natural instinct, which would be based on fear?
At this point, I am pressed in the reins to inform you that I have as yet not read other parts of the scriptures that will be part of the devotional, like the verse of the day, and the reading from the plan of our identity in Christ. All I have is this that we read now, in the context of what I have received before.
Many times, in our lives, the conditions match that which we have read today. We press on in a direction, when we should have refrained from it, especially when such a refrain would have been by obedience to some warning or instruction. Is it so uncommon today that we are directed rather by a popular vote in a democratic society? Or, even being pulled along by some headstrong controllers?
Case in point, a commander of our military here in South Africa has thought it wise to now advise for militarily support of Iran in the current campaign against Israel. I can give our military much the same news that Paul gave to these in Crete. They would be heading into a storm they could have been spared from, if they would listen to warning. Will they? No! Because we have a rogue government that does as they please, and stands in the service of whomever will give the greatest personal profit. Unlike these in Crete, the populous of South Africa won’t even be given a vote in the matter. The warning I have is not as favorable as it was here as given by Paul to those on board. Anyone, who wishes to chain themselves to these efforts of Iran, would have been served better by remembering what is written about what the Lord will do to the armies of those that go against Israel in this time. If any members return home, they will be considered “lucky.”
Joel 3:2 KJV
[2] I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.
[12] And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.
But, friends, there are similar warnings written for all of us in Prophecy, even in the words that our Lord and Saviour gave in warning, regarding this time. The warning is thus not just for this commander of the SANDF and those that support his viewpoint, but also for those gathering in September (2025) of the UN, to look at a two-state solution for peace. Prophecy speaks against your efforts, and is like this South Eastern wind that brought down the storm upon these in the ship with Paul. In our time there are so many who are thinking or saying, “GOD will do neither good nor evil.” They consider GOD as a Bible character that is bound in times past. Like these we read of today, not heeding the warning call, will bring you shipwreck. We are called obedient friends, did you not know that? Not obedience to me, or what I am saying, but obedience to the warning that GOD left us in written form, which the Holy Spirit confirms in us. There are some that have received word concerning what duties and testimonies that remain, much like it was given to Paul. But, like in the text, my expectation is that I will have to speak to you again in the storm.
Can you heed the warning? Or, shall I ask you as I have asked you now so many times : Are you ready yet? Have you got oil for your lamps because the night is coming and the stores will close and there will not be enough oil for all. You were not meant to suffer in the coming storm, just as the lake of fire was not prepared for mankind.
Matthew 25:41 KJV
[41] Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
Some may call me “negative,” others might say, “he is a doomsday prophet,” but the truth is just that I have read the Word of GOD, and I recognize the signs I am seeing. Just as Paul saw that the time to sail came to an end, and that even that port that was not suitable to winter in gave more shelter than the ship would at sea.
Like Paul, my hope remains in the merciful kindness of GOD, and my trust in God is that He will give me those that are with me, like he gave these on board to Paul, and none be hurt. Yet, the storm came, and they were shipwrecked, just as Paul proclaimed, at the isle to which their souls were saved.
4. Verse of the Day
From the YouVersion Bible App
Luke 1:49 KJV
[49] For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; And holy is his name.
The believers in Jesus Christ are children of the Most High GOD. Your faith makes you a child of our Father in Heaven Who loves you deeply and welcomes you with joy at repentance and a return home. Of course, the very well known parable of the Lost Son comes to mind for this.
Luke 15:11-24 KJV
[11] And he said, A certain man had two sons: [12] and the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living. [13] And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living. [14] And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want. [15] And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. [16] And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him. [17] And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! [18] I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, [19] and am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants. [20] And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. [21] And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son. [22] But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: [23] and bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: [24] for this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
Now, let us look at what Paul gives us about this Loving Father of ours. It is not just that we are children, but as “the sons of GOD.” But, let me rather give over to the scripture that gives so much more than we may know, or feel in our everyday lives:
Romans 8:12-28 KJV
[12] Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. [13] For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. [14] For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. [15] For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. [16] The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: [17] and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. [18] For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. [19] For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. [20] For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, [21] because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. [22] For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. [23] And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. [24] For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? [25] But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. [26] Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. [27] And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. [28] And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Do you see how faith, trust and obedience to the Spirit of GOD comes in again. You see, the rebel is always counter to the wise council from Heaven. The rebel mindset goes after that which comes by carnality, thoughts and feelings that are like enemies of faith and trust, and will subvert obedience. In rebellion, we become like this lost son that goes outside the safety-zone of obedience and protection by the “family” and most importantly away from the Protecting Father.
6. Closing Paragraph
Are you on a ship bound for shipwreck, my friend? Are the winds blowing and the waves high and encroaching?
You know where salvation waits. You have heard, you have been warned and been given direction. Now, break bread and cease the fasting, eat and be filled with joy, at the table of the Lord, where protection of your soul is guaranteed for eternity. In obedience, you will even be spared much travail here on earth. And yes, at times, you might get wet and have to swim to the shore. If you obey the Lord’s direction and not act according to your own fears and natural “fight or flight” for survival, but move by the guidance of His Holy Spirit, the Lord will preserve your soul, even like He saved these with Paul in the shipwreck.
